We are here, the worldly inhabitants
the ones who share a vision.
With arms held high
and stomachs big
our voices locked in tongue.
Celebration is our friend
for all that we have achieved
medals, medallions, new cars and bikes
gift wrapped to the perfect t.
We are here, but some forget
perhaps wish not to see.
down a dark alley, lost in the desert
drowned in an ocean of electricity.
All we have is hope
that the future may be changed.
For now we sit in silence
while the sweeping darkness
takes us away.
- Title: Misplaced Christmas
- Artist: Owl Hug
- Description: This poem is about looking at the other side of Christmas, the darker side. Understanding that there are people in the world who really are less fortunate and a new car, or all the cool presents really mean nothing to them, because they don't have the luxury of walls around them, a bed to sleep in or even a nice warm, home cooked meal. But before we can even help others, we must be awake to the reality of the world we are living in.

it's very nice, but maybe a bit more
emphasis on the people who don't
have it, less than the emotion. I can
easily see someone getting confused
without the description. - Report As Spam
