Fluffy flakes tumble through crisp air
Frosting lashes, noses and hair.
House shining bright in twinkling lights
A glowing beacon on Christmas Eve night.
Down swoops the sleigh with bells all a-jingle
Carrying that jolly saint, old Kris Kringle.
With a laugh and a smile he slides down the chimney
Carrying lots of presents for little Laura and Sidney.
Out from his sack come dolls and train sets
Every item they asked for do the good children get.
Once the gifts are in place, and the stockings all stuffed
Santa nibbles the cookies that let him know he is loved.
With a final inspection and a twitch of his nose
Right up the chimney the jolly elf rose.
With a shake of the reins and a cheerful cry
The reindeer lift-off into the clear, winter sky.
One wish do I have for your family and friends,
Rather than watching the joy of the holiday end,
May your good Christmas cheer
Last the whole of the year.
