Winter Solstice
By: Raeyl
Innocent white, all around
Snowflakes flood upon the ground
Each with their unique design that melt into one
“Never eat yellow snow,” we were told in youth
Snowballs we make at the sight
“They taste like popsicles,” we squealed with delight
Winter comes and winter goes
My heart it sings a sad hello
Autumn leaves are covered by Winter snow
The beauty of the Winter Solstice
It’s magical indeed
To the young and old alike
We sing in jubilee
“If we do part this winter night
my heart is filled with sorrow
You may melt and go away
but I’ll build you again tomorrow”
