Even though I never got the whole zOMG SESSHY-SAMAAAAA MARRY ME KAWAII DESU!!11 I did think that the tender, father/daughter relationship portrayed in the series (at least what I saw of it), was beautifully done. Anime seems to lack many fiercely protective father figures.
