- While there are many, most Japanese names are most definitely not neuter. The majority of names have one of a few possible endings which are used strictly for boys or strictly for girls. "-mi" is one of them, for girls. If one is making a comic that's meant to have characters with Japanese names, one should make sure that the names make sense in a Japanese context. This glaring gender-bender distracts from an otherwise good comic. The layout and designs are terrific!

Hikumi is a boy's name.
When I was in high school in Japan, one of my friends name was Hikumi. So I'm 100% shure it's a boy name because he was one. - Report As Spam
