• The Alumist

    September 22nd

Minako opened the small bottle and tipped it upright. There was not a drop of the potion left. She was left stranded in the body she least desired to ever be in. The Alumist, most people knew it by. The Alumist is supposed to be the most hideous creature of the land of Mortez. Anyone who looked at it would have an upset stomach for days. Maybe nausea or even stomach virus symptoms may occur. Many people would dread being in the body of an Alumist. Though the body is hideous, the power within is more powerful than anything one could imagine.
Minako sat for a peered over the dusty window ceil. It was almost newly autumn, her favorite season. So many things were to happen. She was to meet her new master, serve him, and hopefully make him the happiest being alive. Or so Minako hoped she would be doing. There was the ever elegant Victoria, her arch rival in everything. Minako knew if she could not return to her former self, her chances with meeting the glorious, mysterious master would be demolished. She mustn’t let Victoria win this fight. She wasn’t fit for this master. She had already had seven masters already – betraying each of them ruthlessly and carelessly. Minako cared for her masters. Her previous one had just deceased in a bitter war a few months ago. She was ready to serve a new one for her loneliness could not bear much longer.
Here in the countryside, where many creeks whistle soft music, hills keep dark secrets, and valleys uncover many truths, there were many potions that had tremendous power on turning people in many forms. Minako heard from a fortune teller that a certain potion she heard of would give Minako inevitable luck. Minako surely though she would have needed it to win against Victoria. But what was there to do now? She was an Alumist. Did she swallow the wrong potion? Perhaps she didn’t follow the old map quite correctly? Whatever it was, it was anything but inevitable luck. It was more like a curse.
Minako was three hours into the countryside’s valley. In her current form, it may take way longer than three hours to reach another valley with potions. Walking fast was not an Alumist talent. They moved relatively slow. Minako definitely cannot serve a master at a slow pace. She was a quick, pacey, and diligent server. Minako looked down at her torn maid dress. She believed that Alumist potion made her gain at least 75 pounds. What was she to do? Was it over, her life her dreams, her purpose of life? Minako refused to think like that. She had lost her former beautiful body, not her heart or mind.
