• There was no denying it. Alex looked absolutely beautiful in the snow.

Every little clump of snow that fell from the overcast sky and landed on his tan skin, gave me the shivers. I think I did shiver, because he noticed and took off his jacket. He placed it on my shoulders. I could feel my face warm up contrasting with the crisp march air. I looked up to see his wide smiling face. I wished I could reach up, and just . . . Just once. Just one kiss. Then I'd be satisfied.

"So Jenna how far up the road is your house?" I was ripped from my sulky fantasy by his angelic gravelly voice.

"Oh, . . . Not too far just past that shack there . . ." The trees were beginning to close in around us, and the dark sky was growing even angrier. I had to hurry. It would be dark soon. It should be the other way around I thought suddenly. I should be walking him home. When he wasn't looking, I quickened my pace and darted in front of him. There we were. In my driveway. All over.

"Here we are." I smiled a weakly. "I can make it down my driveway by myself." I took off his jacket and handed it straight to him. With no eye contact what so ever. I could feel his green eyes upon me. Wondering. Thinking, obviously, how strange I was. Making a mental note to, in the future avoid this strange girl.

"Goodbye" I mumbled and quickly turned around. My hands were clenched in as I quickly and gingerly sloshed across the wet snow.

    The thing that I didn't count on was this . . .

His hand fell on my shoulder, and I stopped abruptly in my tracks. He slowly guided my shaking legs around so that my eyes were in his direct line of sight. He had his beautiful smile reached across his face and his perfect green eyes smiled along with them.

"What Jenna? No goodnight kiss?" He leaned down and placed his warm lips on my own, and lifted his head up, so I could see his face. Smiling.

"Bye." I could only stand there stupefied as I watched him wave and walk back down the backwoods road that led into that sleepy little town. He was smiling all the while. I could just tell by the way he chuckled.

By the way his heart beat faster.

By the way his human blood ran through his perfect veins.

My cold hands lifted to my still warm lips and my aching heart skipped a beat.

There was still one more little thing I hadn't counted on. That was finding a cute boy insane enough to love a demon like me.
