• GOT AWAY

    I ducked down behind the tree and focused hard on what was on the other side of the tree trunk. I heard nothing. Thast made me more afraid then had I heard something. Why me! I screamed to myself in my head.
    The next thing I know is I a pinned down to the ground by two guards. I don't want to hurt them or anybody. But, it's them or me. I always win.
    They yanked me up by my arms. I pulled away and turned so that one would grab the brace I was to wear to keep my wings hidden. Like clockwork the on eon the left pulled it off. I unfurled my wings, and using the split second that they were stunned, I kicked them back shooting off into the canopy overhead. Once I did I dived back down to grab the brace.
    "Shoot her! But, don't kill her!" the forest screamed in a shrill electronic voice. I looked around and saw that some trunks had intercoms. And worse cameras.
    They pulled out guns and had better aim than expected for door gaurds. The 5th shot skimmed my shirt. I tore off that corner and darted off northeast.
