• Chapter 7
    Air headed

Aya and I ran out the doors. We did not find Shadow. "Aya..? Where did uh.. how do you say it..? Kage? Ah whatever.. where did Shadow go?" She stopped in her tracks. "Oh right!" She smiled apolegetically. "Shadow may only travel during night if he is on a mission." I rolled my eyes at the statement. "Well... I'm guessing we would have to travel by foot in day without..." I gestured towards Aya's key. "Those. So .. what now?" Aya looked around for a second. "Ah..!" I heard her say. She ran towards the tree to the side of the castle, where an arrow pinned a note. I ran to her and smirked. "How classic." It was from Shadow. Aya, Please tell the foolish princess of what time of day we may travel. I would be guessing you found this note as she is too much of an airhead. I will take a wild guess now. She is behind you, raging. Aya looked at me, as the note was correct. I was angry of how much he insulted me without a care. "I thought I was supposed to be a princess! Not an object to be insulted!" She shushed me. "There is still more, Nika." And so there was. But it was to me. Airhead of a Princess, Correct was I not? Please tell Aya that she will discover her past. Because that is basically all I can trust you with, moron. -Shadow Even more raged, I cooled a little rereading it. "Your past..?" Aya smiled sadly. "Alas yes. That memory has been in my head. But I found out that I was the same age as you, so it could not be possible. " I stared hard at Aya. "But does that me-" "No. Your past is true." Aya seemed to know me in and out. I suddenly remembered something. Something very important. "Aya... Now that I'm on this mission.. What about my friends? What about Ajay? My school and everything?"She shook her head. "They are no longer yours. You are now inexistent to them." I felt a pang of sadness. "So.. They don't know me at all?" She shook her head again. "Um.. I feel kind of hungry. Want to get some sweets or something?" I nodded mutely, still in shock of what she had told me. They are no longer yours. They don't know you at all.... "2 custard puddings please!" Aya yelled. I was taken back into reality. I felt something cold. "Make that 3!" She turned to face me. "Lets go to your room." Aya took me by the hand and took me upstairs, into my room. She opened the door for me. It was beautiful. It had a nice deep red color for the walls, little lights that resembled Christmas lights circled the ceiling with my own T.V and a tablet laptop. "If you think this is great, wait until you see the place you sleep." I looked at Aya. "This is..?" "This is the place you get to play in." I smiled. "Show me to my sleeping room!" Aya led me through a door, that had cherryblossoms painted around it. As she said, it was much better then the play room. It was white and had a big window with white curtains that could only be seen through inside. It also had a sitting place beneath it. I found my bed easily. It too, was white with a canopy. I lay down on it and looked up at the canopy. It had glitter on it which made it shine. Beside the bed was a mirror. Beside the mirror was a closet. It was empty, but beautiful. Aya smiled warmly and pointed to a book case and then then the curtains. I nodded, thinking I knew what to do. I saw it in many movies. A hidden switch or something and a passage way. I searched the curtains first and found a thin box slightly lighter to identify it. I opened it and entered a random number. "1,2,3,5." I said aloud. The bookshelf slid aside to reveal a passageway that had an aroma of spices and sweets through it. "Kage-san!" Aya said suddenly. Shadow was waiting in the passageway holding three plates with pudding. "Psh. Thought you'd never open it." He handed Aya one and walked to me. "Here, airhead." He handed it to me, or so I thought. His reflexes were quick. I was about to grab it when he took it. Shadow took out three spoons. He handed Aya and I a spoon but I still didn't have my pudding. He took a spoonful of my pudding and closed his eyes. "Mm.. Sweet pudding." "Hey! Thats mine!" He opened one eye and looked at me with it. "Hm.. I don't see your name on it do I?" He took another spoonful and I grabbed it back. "Hmph.. Thank you very much for eating it!" "My pleasure airhead." Now, very annoyed I decided to leave and watch some T.V. "Aya.. I'm going to watch T.V..." She nodded at me questioningly. I left, glad to leave their presences. Instead, I decided to go to the patio, and so I did.

I walked out into fresh air. It felt wonderful. I ate my pudding happily, knowing that there wasn't any nuisances around. So I thought. "Aren't you slow?" I jumped at Shadows voice. "Tch. Pathetic. And your really supposed to save us all?" I looked at him, and suddenly my heart began to beat quickly, and my face got red."W-why do you always wear a mask?" I stuttered, suddenly nervous. "Because no one knows my name lives." I pondered his answer. "Sonigaku! Eh--?" I was surprised at my own reply. It sounded like that, but I was pretty sure I meant to speak English. " I.. I mean anyways... what are you doing here?" I could see he was mocking me behind his mask. "I knew you'd be down here. Your just so.... predictable." I looked at him, trying to find his emotion, and failed. He looked up to the sky. "Its almost time. Go rest." And with that he left in a blink of an eye.

    Chapter 8
Aya-chan and Shadow-kun; What are they?!

I decided to take Shadows advice so I went upstairs for a nap. Aya was asleep on a sofa, while Shadow was leaning against a wall. I went into my room to sleep. I lay down on the bed without a change of clothes. What's the deal with Aya and Shadow?! Their so friendly with each other.. I became red at the thought of Shadow. His face became stuck in my head, his features vivid. His purple hair, his black mask, his top hat, his long coat. All so vivid. And somehow, I fell asleep with a smile on my face, even with the thought of his cruelty.

"What the..?!!?" I had been woken up by a strong slap in the face. Shadow... I thought instantly. "It's time to go, Nika." I heard Aya's gentle voice, reassured that she wouldn't let Shadow hurt me. I got up reluctantly and rubbed my eyes. I forgot I was still in my regular clothes. Shadow wore his regular clothes too, except he had already wielded his sword. "Kage-kun..! Put that away please!" It disappeared like vapor, but looked like wind. Aya had her clothes she had worn earlier on as well. But she was carrying a dress, with a staff that is a different color then her own. She saw me looking at it. "Oh.. Shadow helped me make it. Isn't it nice?" It was pretty. It was white, so it blended in well with the room. It looked about knee length, and a little tight around the waist. A white black satin bow was at the waist, with the bow at the back, trailing a silky path. The staff had a blue gem in the middle, while Aya's was pink. Ours had wings on it too. "Try it on...? Please..? This is what you will be wearing the whole time if you like it! We also have spares." She looked at me pleadingly so I agreed to try it on. I ushered them out and stripped to try on the dress. It looked wonderful. I told them to come in. "Wow..! It's beautiful!" Aya exclaimed. I blushed at her remark and it quickly faded. "We have accessories too!" She handed me a pair of silk white gloves with a little grip at the hands, and a pair of black shining shoes. I put them all on, and put on my white ankle socks. "Shadow! You were right! The black does bring out her skin tone just a little." I was surprised by this. "Shadow... made it like this??" I was shocked when she nodded. "But I thought you made it!" She blushed remarkably. "Well you see, I made the design. I never would have thought of the bow though. And.. I'm not good at sewing so Shadow did it." I stared at Shadow in wonder. "What do you think, Kage-kun?" Shadow looked at me behind the mask. " I think it looks nice on her. When you tried it on it threatened to slip which was horrible." My face grew red at the thought of the dress slipping off of Aya in front of him. She saw my face and made frantic hand motions. "No..! He didn't see anything!" My face was still red at the remark. "You done playing dress up?" I nodded and he left quickly. "You know Nika.. He really really likes you. I like him a lot too but he likes you." Aya left without another word, leaving me in my costume.
