• Kona walked down the street, agitated. She and her boyfriend just got into a really big fight, and she could not even remember what it was about. She started crying and put her head against a wall of an alley. "Where am I?" she wondered. She was so lost in thought that she did not know where she was. Suddenly she heard a voice, pleasant and warm. "Are you lost?" it asked. A man came from the corner and pushed her against a wall. She squirmed and tried to push him, though he was too strong. "Don`t go",the voice crooned."Lemme go!" she yelped and thought of something."I`ll become you`re wife if you challenge my boyfriend in the town square to a match that is even but of your choice, tomorrow at noon." He thought about what she said and said in her ears, almost a whisper, "If you two don`t appear,I`ll find you, you know I will"He then backed up and ran off into the shadows, leaving her frightened to the death.
She started crying and wandered, then suddenly a warm touch grabbed her,but had`nt she looked over, she would`ve socked her boyfriend, Ryan, in the face. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, what`re you doing` in this part of the city, miss?" She could tell he was trying to cheer her up,but she put her face to his chest and cried hard, thier arms around each other.
"Oh Ryan, I`ve done something terrible!I told a man to come up with a challenge and you would be the contestant, but if you lose,I`ll become his wife!" she hollered but he hushed her and said, "I`ll do the challenge, for you."

    The next day......

There he was, waiting for them. "Well, you showed up,`bout time too,I was gonna go if you hadn`t come" Ryan walked up and asked what the challenge might be,for it was only fair."I chose to do a game of checkers, you red,I black" "Fair enough" They agreed and Ryan gave me a kiss and a thumbs up sign. They played and Ryan came out the winner. The man vanished and they celebrated.
Kona never saw the man again but might have seen him in the shadows, once or twice. He remains to her as the man in the shadows.
