• Introduction

Long, long ago, there lived four clans which lived in harmony in the island of Sephiria. Each clan had a special power. The Kristen clan had the power of fire. The Euphoria clan could control ice. The Oral clan could control earth. And lastly, the Moonlight clan could control the darkness. The four clans were protecting a magical locket called Kei. It is said that whoever opened the locket would be granted all four of the powers-earth, dark, fire and ice. However, since the leaders of the four clans could not decide who deserved it best, they kept it sealed in a chamber. The Euphoria clan was silently jealous. The Moonlight clan started a war between the clans, fighting for the locket. They failed and were banished from the island. Strangely, the locket disappeared. 500 years have passed and the locket couldn’t be found. Some say that the Moonlight Clan took it and some say that it is still out there, somewhere…

    Prologue

Maybe if I hadn’t said the things I said to him-I wouldn’t be in this situation. Sadly, I am. Just the thought of it makes me want to cry. I shouldn’t be doing this. I’m the princess of Euphoria, I shouldn’t be doing this at all.

I turned around immediately when the door creaked open. The evil king stood there and smiled. It was rather intimidating. After a lone silence, he finally spoke “Come princess, your prince is waiting…”

    Chapter One - Unexplained

I didn’t want to run. I wanted to fight them. In front of me were four of my classmates. To be more precise, my enemies-I didn’t like them and they didn’t exactly enjoy my company either. Why? You ask?

Well that’s simple. They’re jealous. I’m about to be crowned the queen of the Euphoria clan. I didn’t want to be crowned queen though. It wasn’t my fault that my grandfather was the king of the clan. I couldn’t get my mother to change her mind, she was stubborn. I guess that’s the only thing I inherited from her. Everyone in my clan was way better at controlling ice than me, and yet, I was chosen in the end.

    “Are you scared Ann?”

I shook my head and stared at them. “Or should we say ‘Princess Ann?’ ” Janice said mockingly, an annoying bitchy girl from my class who almost everyone hated. “If you are so scared, why don’t you ask your father to save you?” she said and laughed.

I winced. That was a touchy subject. You see, my father left me, my mother and my little brother. I never knew where he was. Whenever I asked my mom, she would change the subject or say “You are too young, you’ll understand later”

That was something I never understood. I’m already sixteen. Was she waiting for me to become eighty before I knew who my dad was?
“Well at least I don’t waste my time shopping even when everyone knows how ugly they are” I retorted.

She growled and threw a fire ball at me. I screamed and ducked. It destroyed the huge rock behind me. “Hey! We aren’t supposed to use elements outside of school!” I pointed an accusing finger at her. She raised an eyebrow. “So what are you going to do? Tell on me? Just what I expected from Miss Head Prefect!” she said and laughed.

Before she could do anything else, I ran away as fast as I could. I didn’t want to run but my legs wouldn’t stop. I headed straight for a huge cave. I turned around to see if they were still following me; it seemed as if they were. So, I quickly ran into the cave. Taking path’s that I was told never to take. The cave was a haunted place as the rumours said. Therefore, no one dared to enter. This is also an animal cave. There would probably be tiger’s and other wild animals around.

I sighed when I saw that I had reached the end of the cave. I looked around. I could hear their voices, they were coming closer. I leaned against a wall. I couldn’t help but notice that the wall on this side felt rather soft or wet. I stepped back from the wall. I glanced at it for a second before I kicked it hard. The wall didn’t seem to do anything at all. Well that was obvious, since it was a wall. The voices drew closer. I flinched for a moment, my heart was racing. All of a sudden, the wall cracked. I stared at it and exhaled. I jumped towards the wall and fell through.

I landed on the ground with a loud bump. I stood up and brushed some dirt off my long sky blue coloured dress. It was surprisingly windy. My reddish coloured hair blushed into my face. I didn’t understand how it could be windy-I didn’t even know where I was.

I looked around. I slipped and fell, it was then when I noticed that the floor was made out of marble. It didn’t make any sense. I got up and walked further into the so called-cave. I then saw a golden coloured locket on the floor. I picked the locked up and placed it in my palm. It was very dirty; I couldn’t make out the words that were written on the locket. I rubbed the dirt of with the back of my palm and read the word out loud

    “Kei”

My eyes widened. This couldn’t be the long lost treasure that the island was protecting could it? I stared at the locket curiously and shrugged.
Out of curiosity, I opened the locket. A very bright light shined brightly in the locket. The light was so bright that I dropped the locket to the floor. I shut my eyes tightly.

After a few seconds, I opened my eyes only to see a boy-about my age probably on the floor. He had brown coloured hair, almost golden. He wore a long sleeved black coloured shirt with long beige jeans. His eyes flickered open. He had eyes as blue as the sea. He quickly sat up and rubbed the back of his head. He looked so good-looking; in fact he almost looked perfect. He stared at me and I stared at him. I couldn’t take my eyes off him.

It was like we were having some kind of staring competition and all of a sudden he asked me, “Who are you?”

I didn’t answer for a moment but after his words sank into my head, I said

“Ann, Ann Sephiria, princess of Euphoria clan”

He didn’t answer. So I asked him, “Who are you?”

    “Kei, Kei Fallen”
