    ::Chapter Two::

    Kiss of Compassion

    Three years later, Kit was a young and beautiful sixteen year old who helped around Chesia. Everyone knew that Kit was somewhat like Kirin, how kind, passionate, short-tempered, and smart she was. Yet Kit's mother knew that nobody would ever truly understand her. One day, while Kit was supposedly taking a walk on the outskirts of the city, a biker group came, known as Demon Riders. They stopped in the city square, where all the people gathered 'round. The Demon Riders' leader, Kodoku, stepped off of his motorcycle, and stood up on a bench. "People of Chesia. From now on, this city will owe the Demon Riders 60% of their pay from the money they get." Some of the people laughed, "Or, we'll burn this city..." Kodoku tossed a fireball at a woman's garden, "till it's nothing but ashes!" Kodoku declared. The people panicked. And just as the mayor was going up towards Kodoku, a knife appeared out of nowhere and landed in between the mayor and the Demon Riders. "I don't think so." a voice said.

    Just as Kodoku was about to throw another fireball at a building, Kit grabbed his wrist, and leaned her head forward, blowing the fireball out. "If you dare try to take my city...my home again, I'll make sure," Kit let go of his wrist and pointed to the golden fountain, "that you will be the next sacrifice." Kodoku looked at Kit with a smirk. "Sacrifice? What sacrifice?" Kit pointed at the fountain and to the statue of the White Maiden in the fountain. "You mean, you don't know about the White Maiden??? The Black Butterflies that she summons to kill men, women, and children...with a butterfly kiss?" Kit smiled.

    Kodoku laughed, "That's nothing but a fairytale!" Kit raised an eyebrow and pulled out her hand, not clenched, but holding something. "Really now?" Kit opened her hand to reveal a black butterfly. Kodoku grunted, jumped on his bike and left with the rest. Before they left, a boy with silver hair, known as X, looked back at Kit, then followed. The people of Chesia laughed. "He was such a fool. That's nothing but a dark blue monarch butterfly." The mayor smiled. Kit smiled back and nodded. "And this little Monarch followed me home when I heard motorcycles coming in." She placed her finger, which had the dark blue monarch butterfly on it, towards her, and kissed it gently. Kit then tossed the butterfly in the air and it took off, flying into the sun.

    Meanwhile...

    Kodoku sat on the chair behind his desk in an abandon mansion. The cracks of the mansion creeked and sounded like it was moving. Footsteps could be heard across the hallway, the stairs, and even the top and bottom floor. Just as someone was about to knock and enter, Kodoku stood up and said, "Come on in, Raven." Raven walked in with a report in his hand, and a stern look in his eyes. He flopped the manilla folder onto the desk, the folder opening. "That legend is true. The White Maiden incident happened sixteen years ago. She took a sacrifice known as Kirin. And there's something else, too." Raven stated. "Great...What else?" Kodoku rolled his eyes. Raven threw an open black folder on the desk, revealing Kit's photos, history, birth month/day/year, and information. "That girl you encountered...She inherited the powers of the White Maiden, and has some powers of her own. Such as controlling ice, disappearing into shadows, and summoning butterflies to her every need. Her name is Kit Yukuharu...She's different." Raven said.

    Kodoku smiled. "Kit Yukuharu, huh? Well, glad she told me her name. Isn't she the one that X was starin' at before we left?" Raven nodded. "Uh-huh...You can go Raven...Send in X." Raven nodded, and X came in after Raven patted his shoulder. "So, you're interested in that girl? Kit?" Kodoku asked, smirking. X remained quiet. He looked at Kodoku and he slid the black folder over to him. X picked up the picture of Kit and stared at it. "I'll take that as a quiet yes. She's yours. IF, you can get her on our side." Kodoku said. X looked up glaring at Kodoku, and left. Kodoku shook his head, smiling. "But, she is a pretty attractive woman...I think I might make her mine...If you don't make your move...X." Kodoku said, picking up another picture of Kit, and placing the top right corner of the picture in his mouth. X stared at the picture that he picked up and put it inside his jacket in a secret pocket. He then walked outside and got on his bike, leaving the mansion.
