Mitsuha Miyamizu is a 17-year old teenage girl living in a small town called Itomori. She is a part of her family's shrine and participates in old traditions as a shrine maiden with her younger sister Yotsuha. The dislike of the issues with her family shrine and her father, makes Mitsuha want to live as a handsome Tokyo boy. Her wish would eventually be somewhat granted, as she would start switching bodies with Taki Tachibana.
