Here I lay now, cold at heart My love, my honor, ripped apart Yet there is no time to weep. I have charges in my keep. Will I get them back who knows. Hopefully 'fore my own death throes The world, I've found, is cruel and harsh Like sludging through an endless marsh. On we fight, and all will fall For Life lets no one have it all. You fight the most for things you want So you may have something to flaunt. Yet life fights back in many ways. Soon you see the end of your days. For Time is her ally, forever more. Soon you knock at Death's own door. So here I lay, thinking long. My lips murmering some strange song. Trying hard to figure out What life is really all about. "What's the point" I ask myself. The deathshade comes with utmost stealth. And before you realize the facts. Life has sealed her dangerous pacts. The human life is short and bleak People always wanting to seek You hole yourselves in forts or shacks The better to withstand her imminent attacks. We hide behind technology Yet will no one ever truely see The facts of life, as they are, will have you wishing on a star. So fight on humans if you must. But be prepared, for one day, you're dust. I shall lie awake at night. And will also continue to fight. Yet now, I fear, I've lost it all My heart, trust, honor, doomed to fall. For this night, I lie awake Thinking of the words you spake About how you think I waste my time Even as words fall into rhyme So now, I take my final bow No more pain. Not here. Not now A second chance you will deserve When you prove you can keep your word. Until that day, even if it's forever No more, for you, will I endeavor. A friend you'll always have in me But as for now, romantically You're love belongs to another one There is no room for me. I'm done.
