The Superintendent of my school district doesn't seem to understand that the world is going to hell in a hand basket. Every other school district is closed except for ours.
The Nor'Easter is so bad, there's flooding everywhere. Some front and backyards look like lakes.
They let us out of school at third period yesterday, because the police were closing the roads to Barrington and Nottingham, and parents were scared that their kids wouldn't be able to get home.
Babz couldn't leave her house (she lives in Barrington) and she ended up being evacuated from her home. A lot of my Barrington and Nottingham students were being called out randomly duing first, second and third period, and I figured they either all had dental appointments scheduled for the same day, or something was going on. Then they kicked us out.
Brittany came over to my house, but not after we looked around town and saw how high the two rivers in Dover are.
A state of Emergency's been declared in NH.
I seriously hope that O'Connor realizes that if he keeps school on, a lot of people won't be coming. The school was almost empty yesterday, and the baseball field was half-submerged in water.
And what's more- that horrible shooting that went on in Virginia yesterday. Such senseless violence; apparently, it's going down as one of the worse fatal shootings so far- about 33 deaths. Not to mention that this is the anniversary of the Columbine shootings. Lovely world we live in. Really.
