Death coming over me
Like a warm blanket
In which extended comfort
And invited me to sound slumber
For which I was ready to succumb
Just as I took my first
And my last steps onto the spiritual plane
I heard the sweet sound a bird chirping
Calling out to me as it did
It told me
That where was a magnificent force
Searching, wandering
In earnest
And that it could bring me back from death
A human being
And that the human was a woman
And that woman would be you, my love
That it is you
The person just for me
The one I love
So by that realization
I broke free from the shackles of death
And wandered aimlessly in the forest of uncertainty
Where I happened across you
Here
Before my weary eyes
Much to my delight
I see the visage of you
My sweet
In all of your glory
I think
Perhaps you were the bird that called out to me
For you appear to have the same eyes
And the same strength of spirit
