The Magic 8 Ball
It's not what you think. confused
I'm not going to preach about how the Admins owe you nothing for donating, because they do. eek
I'm not going to rant about wanting better quality donation items because the Admins owe it to us for giving money to the site, because they don't. whee
Confused yet? Good. question
Let's take a moment to consider this - Right or wrong, good items or bad, donations have, whether you regret them later or celebrate them, allowed for an expansion of what once was a small php message board into a revolving, evolving, living beast of a community. domokun
For a more concrete look at it, the money you give, whether hesitantly or freely, has allowed for more staff, more equipment, faster service, and more devotable man hours for Gaia. 3nodding
Like it or not, even the most "selfish" person on the boards who's probably even now complaining to the high heavens about how shitty the items are and how she'll/he'll commit seppuku if she/he ever has to deal with this or that again, and who is fist-shakingly swearing he/she will never donate again from disappointment has done something to help Gaia that benefits us all. lol
They have (often unwittingly) committed a most humanitarian act, and even their bitterest of complaints should be welcomed because they are a member of Gaia, and they've offered up their time in monetary form to prove it, if even only once. They did it. razz
So thank you donators, pleased and disappointed alike.
Thank you for sharing your opinion, and supporting our servers.
And thank you Admins for providing this fine media with which to thank you on, or shake our virtual fists at you on.
heart
I also think that the difference between complaining about the items,
and constructive criticism should be seen as well. 3nodding

Now just to state ahead of time, this is pretty much going to be a rant to those who decided to take time out of their day to pretty much try to make the admins and mods feel bad for them trying to give us what we want to make us happy...
So first off, I'd like to say you have a very excellent view on this current situation, as stated from those above me. I agree completely. People on Gaia haven't really been too nice before the letter unlocked, and even afterwards. They were all filled with rage and greed when the letters too the longest time to open themselves up to reveal this months latest item. So I guess it's pointless for me to even post about it other then to give you credit on your analysis. Most of the users who posted about the letters more then likely disliked the donation items. I'll be honest, I didn't donate this month because I haven't had the time to get a giftcard like I usually do to donate. But none the less, I appreciate what the higherups have done as well as have been doing to satisfy us members. They do what they can to make us happy, and when one person don't get their way everything hits the fans for those who give up the most to make them happy. As stated early in this post, yesterday's pre-letter unlocking posts in Q+F are a perfect example of this. The point is they need to realise (Keep in mind, not just them, sometimes us too), that they can't always have what they want when they want it. That's what they have sugesstions and feedback for, for those people who feel they are never heard. So for future reference, if you don't like what you get for being generous to keep this site on it's feet, don't decide to go rampant and attack the admins and mods with vulgar language and cursing because of something they gave you, be grateful you got anything at all. If anything you should be thankful you have a site to come to so that you can have fun and spend your time doing something to keep you occupied. Keep that in mind next time you make the decision to open your mouths to comment on how they made you angry with what they did to the site to make it a nicer place for you to enjoy.

Kytona - very good points raised, and I'm glad someone else advocates leaving the torches and deomic pitchforks at home when discussing items released on Gaia.
xd Heck, 2 days before we got groovy new clothes and toe socks!
Sakurako-sama - Another good point, with people having the choice of waiting to donate until the 25th to see if the item is to their liking or not. And they can always sell it. 3nodding
Thank you, both of you.

Your welcome, I'm glad to find at least some users are nice enough to notice everything that was stated within this thread to be true. I just wish everyone else would. But as always, there's always going to be a group of those people who feel everyone and everything's against them and that they'll never get their way. Just you wait and see, a week, or a month, or even a little while from now, something will happen on Gaia that they'll like and they will act totally different. I just wish it would happen sooner rather then later because I am starting to get a little annoyed from a lot of negative views on everything on Gaia... They are doing their best. Give credit where's it's due, because it IS due.

I agree, with all of it. In fact, I hadn't really looked at it that way before (well, at least not in depth). Very well said! 3nodding ^_^
