The Gambinos and Von Helsons weren't always the only influential families in Gaia. On the outskirts of Barton, just beyond the rows of small homes inhabited by the Gaian people, there was a third mansion.
While not as Grand as the mansions on Isle de Gambino and Durem, it was by far one of the most breathtaking sites in all of Gaia. Inhabited by a wealthy family, the manor was decorated to perfection. Statues filled the expansive courtyard, every type of exotic plant filled the garden, and the walls seemed to glow in the moonlight. But all was not well in the mansion. Deep within it's winding corridors, underneath its breath taking façade, it's inhabitants had a deep dark secret.

The family kept their secret for many years, becoming active members of the Gaian community, holding the occasional holiday ball, funding the Gaian Arts and Sciences, and even funding the Akeka Housing commission. They were viewed as champions for the poor, and surprisingly were even on friendly terms with there rival families, despite slowly overtaking them both in fame and wealth.
It went on like this for many years, until that fateful autumn night…

Two Mischievous children had heard rumors surrounding the Mansion, specifically it’s vast garden.
It had been said that on the night of the full moon, strange noises could be heard coming from deep within. The children were young and naïve, so that night, they jumped the fence surrounding the manor, and began snooping around. What happened next was the most terrifying moment of their lives…

Wandering the garden paths, the normally beautiful garden was now dark and foreboding, it’s vegetation could be the hiding place of a terrifying monster, or a crazed killer. The Children were scared,
“Maybe we should go back?” said the younger one, a raven haired girl, her hazel eyes darting nervously.
“Don’t be such a baby” said her older brother with confidence. He put on a show of braver, but his wide blue eyes betrayed his true inner terror. They wandered to the inner most part of the garden, when all of the sudden, they heard movement. The girl held on to to her older brother. “I’m scared!” she cried, tears welling up in her eyes. Her brother was silent, too terrified to speak. Peering out from the bushes, was a pair of glowing yellow eyes.

Suddenly, the owner of the eyes leapt from the bushes. “Run!” screamed the boy, as the took his sister by the hand and made there escape. As they ran though the labyrinthine paths, the creature gave chase, darting through the vegetation. As they neared the fence the siblings began to frantically climb, trying to escape the nightmarish creature behind them. Strangely, the creature stopped it’s chase. As the children made it over the fence, and began running home, the creature calmly turned around, as if all it wanted was to get the children out of the mansion grounds. The children didn’t see this curious behavior however, as they were too busy running home, never looking back.

The next day, the children told all the townspeople about there terrifying night. It didn’t take long for the village elder to suspect the worst, lycantropy, more commonly known as the state of being a Werewolf. The owners of the mansion dismissed this as superstition, and that a dog might have found it’s way in, but when the children led the towns people to were the chase began, they found scraps of tuxedo, and the family crest caught in the shrubbery. Outraged by the fact that werewolves lived among them, the townspeople formed an angry mob, attacking the mansion, destroying all there possessions, and burning it all to the ground. The family was forced to flee to the 4 corners of Gaia, and their tragic tale faded into the realm of legend, their family name lost to the ages. It’s been said that on the night of the full moon, you can see a lone wolfish figure prowling the ruins of the manor, wearing the crest of it’s former inhabitants. Is this creature a bloodthirsty monster, or simply misunderstood? No one knows, no one’s gotten close enough to ask…
