*ahem*
Frequently, RPGs have something called a Monster Town. A town inhabited not by humans, but by non humans of some sort. The town isn't overrun or anything. Monsters just live there.
I thought that this would be an interesting theme for a Gaian Town. I got the name from a thread where people jokingly refered to the 5th Town as "Etcétera Town", due to a post by Qixter, (Durem, Aekea, etc.)
Here's the history!
The History
In the distant past, the various towns of Gaia began to develop xenophobic tendencies. These tendencies were short lived, but were severe enough to force many of the non-human Gaians out of the various towns of Gaia. Some, like the Orcs, went into hiding. Others, like the Kuro, went underground, living in secret. Still others, like the Centaur, fled to nature.
But some, such as ("good" wink Werewolves, Goblins, Trolls, and Dragonfolk, had no where to go.
The Serif family of magicians, to put an end to the conflict, founded Etcétera Town, south of Barton. Etcétera Town became a refuge for these creatures. When Zombies were nearly wiped out in Operation Silent Flash, the survivors fled to Etcétera Town. When Bobo was left behind by his fellow Zurg, he relocated to Etcétera Town. Weredrome, Experiment mutants, S-Corp Yeti, and countless other creatures made their home in Etcétera. As the monster population grew, the human population remained small.
Currently, only one human lives in Etcétera Town, a direct descendant of the founders. Etcetera town is slowly opening up to new people however.

Funny how things go full circle...
Anyway, Etcétera Town would be located south of Barton (completing the Compass rose of towns). It would have a sort of thrown-together feel. Houses built upon houses, stacked, held at various angles. It would be a very chaotic looking place.
In the center would be the magic shop.
Let's go over the various possible shops!
Sans and Serif's
NPC: Ray, the eccentric human Magician.
Services: Potion Brewing. Functionally identical to Item Crafting, but with different results. Perhaps a Mini-Game could be attached to it? Like the Berry Blender or Poffin Machine in Pokemon?
Items Sold: Various Potions. "Magic" Themed items.
Were Wares
NPC: Lawrence, the secretly timid Werewolf. (He puts on a tough guy act... but he sleeps with a nightlight and plushie)
Services: Ring Trading. Lawrence collects rings. If you bring him certain rings, he might offer you a new ring! This wouldn't be a normal exchange. More like a randomized quest thing.
Items Sold: Various Handheld items, accessories, and other non clothing items.
Under the Bridge
NPC: a Troll. Like from the troll items.
Items sold: Post Styles, and game emote packs for Towns and zOMG. Those Post Styles need to be release somehow...
The Etcétera Town Bulletin Board
Gives out simple randomized quests. Accessible through zOMG.
There you have it! Etcétera Town. It's quite simple now. Lots of blank to fill in. But hopefully the concept is interesting enough that you will at least take it into consideration and possibly make something similar.
Hope you like it! biggrin
