The Tanuki in front of chouette - - SESSHYxx stood, sword drawn, ready to fight. "Heh heh heh. Your species was never a match for our own. They're frail and weak compared to our power. I'll kill every last one of the kitsunes, starting with you." He circled her, taunting and degrading her and her species as if she was garbage like the rest of them. She was frightened, drawing up her fists she stood, ready to fight for her life. "We are not weak!" A red aura forms around her, angrily swishing into the form of a kitsune. "Leave her alone." Another Tanuki says, a blue glowing aura formed around him conjuring his power. He drew his sword and sliced it through the air as if he was getting ready for a fight. "How dare you betray our species, She is a KITSUNE, they are our enemies!" The other tanuki hissed, his jaw was clenched and his blue aura came out. "We don't have to fight, we can get along with the kitsunes!" chouette - - SESSHYxx's aura calmed down but didn't leave. Why was this tanuki protecting her? Is he hiding something? She backed away slightly, keeping an eye on both of them. "We can not, they destroy everything! The only way to stop them is for us to eliminate them!" He lunged forward at her and she put her arms up in defense, closing her eyes. She waited for the pain but only heard the clashing of swords and the grunts. She opened her eyes to see the tanuki's fighting against each other. We're they planning on killing each other. The evil tanuki finally fell, he didn't dare move with the sword at his throat. "You're a betrayal to the tanuki community, you will pay for this!" He gave a last a final thrust of his sword and stabbed the tanuki in the left side of his stomach. He fell backwards, at first, not getting the full effect of what happened, then he felt it. The burning pain that slammed at him all at once. He cried out in pain but left the sword so he wouldn't bleed out. chouette - - SESSHYxx took action, she grabbed the sword and stabbed the evil tanuki, she only removed the sword when his body went limp and still. She cautiously approached the tanuki and attempted to heal him with her powers. It didn't work. She let out a battle cry to alert the other kitsunes of trouble, a team came into the clearing and found two tanuki bleeding, they thought they were dead. "Good job, chouette - - SESSHYxx! You've killed you're first two tanuki," said the team leader. They were about to congratulate her some more but that set her off. "This tanuki is alive still, he saved me! Go get a tanuki medic! Now!" She screamed, there were tears but she hardly noticed them over the looks they gave her. "Tanuki aren't our friends, chouette - - SESSHYxx. They don't save us, they betray us. He needs to die now." The tanuki smiled slightly. "It's okay, I understand." He whispered to her. "No, It's not okay. You don't deserve to die like this!" Her aura slammed out full force, angry. She howled a warning shot and held the bloody sword out in front of her. "You will not harm this tanuki!" She snarled, a mess of voices from the spirit in her aura. The voices boomed out loud and clear. Battles seemed to stop and tanuki and kitsunes alike started paying attention. "You will NOT harm this Tanuki" She repeated, Tanuki and kitsune teams that were close by, gathered around. A medic team pushed through to heal the tanuki. Some of them looked to her as if to say "thank you" but the rest seemed to not trust her. The commander suddenly felt the full impact of the situation, the aura touching everyone for them to see the scene that played back in her head. The aura retreated slowly and she started crying. "Don't hurt him." She sniffled and turned back to look at the tanuki who was bandaged and already standing. "Thank you." He said, smiling. He rushed forward and surprised her with a hug. She flinched, dropping the sword, and stood still for a moment before hugging him back. The teams were tense, almost ready to fight again. "Friends?" He asked, unsure of the reply. "Friends!" She said back to him, smiling. Everyone seemed to looked at the opposite teams and one team at a time, everyone laid down their weapons. They awkwardly walked back off the bloody field. 1000 years later, they held a festival. In honor of the Kitsune and Tanuki who has ended the feud that had plagued them for so long. They have foam sword battles and tag tournaments in memory of the battle. The total of points in all games gather into one big score and that determines the spirit of each year. The winner receives the key to the city. The tanuki grabs chouette - - SESSHYxx's hand. "We're still friends, right?" He asks. "Of course we are!" She giggles, taking his hand and running with him to the festival. "May the best spirit win!" -Tanuki Spirit
