My first entry. In hopes to keep it simple, I'll just talk about me. interests and what-not. First off, I've been on gaia for roughly 7 years, though I did go through a dark period where I didn't get on for about 2 years, but that just had to do with me being busy. I've always loved it though. The whole culture and world that it brings you to is captivating. I would have to say that anime is what led me here to be truthful. I've watched anime since i was about 5 years old. Starting with shows like Sailor Moon, Trigun, Big O, Cowboy Bebop, Dragon Ball of course, Digimon, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, the works. Anime seemed to have so much more content than American cartoons, whether it be in the story or the artwork, that i fell in love. Now my relationship with anime is deep and on-going. From Shonen Jump, which i own many copies (including the final paper print), to Naruto and many of the lead animes/mangas. All this being said, my taste in things throughout my life have been altered by my exposure. As I'm sure many can testify. I like different food, i enjoy different music, art, you name it. Movies especially, which my family doesn't understand. It's comical really. They are taken aback when they hear a curse word or two come from one of my animes, thinking of them as only children's cartoons. Something not easily explained to Southern adults. Or any adults for that matter. Or any Americans! I bet not many people know that Billy Bob Thorton has voiced for anime. Or that Snoop Dogg loves anime. Point being, Americans are so unwilling to understand the ways and cultures of others even though America is supposed to be the melting pot of the world, where anyone and everyone can come and be welcomed, as long as they're peaceful and respectful of the other people trying to do the same thing they are. Even though I say all this, I'm not one for politics or any talk of such matters. Too many indecisive and differential views. No solidity or agreement. I digress. Though, through my digression, I'm sure you start to see the picture of who I am and my thoughts. Which I guess is my end goal. And so, I think I will leave it at that, for now. Till next time.
