Clan Mirumoto
Location: Spira
Affiliation: Allied with Time's Gears (Steel Gear Compact), distrustful of the Mercenaries Quarter (Hammerites/Valkyries)
Structure: Four faimilies: Steel, Mercury, Alloy, Gold (or ŝtalo, merkuro, alojo, oro in the Clan's native tongue)
Steel: Primarily smiths and metalworkers. Tend to have a stature befitting the job. Current leader is the Lady Mako Mirumoto. She is wily enough to avoid the political traps of her Mercurial cousins, but is getting up in age. Her chosen Scion is Turusagi Mirumoto.
Mercury: Primarily merchants or "ambassadors" for the clan. Tend to be slight of figure, but sly of mind. De Facto leaders of the clan. Current leader is Daisuke Mirumoto. Though he forsook a title, he is pretty much the one in charge of clan production quotas. He is also sarcastically called the "Puppet Lord", though never to his face. Arashin Mirumoto is thought to be his Scion, though none has been formally chosen.
Alloy: Primarily metallurgists or brute labor. They do not have a defining physical trait, but make amazing leaders when forced into the position. No formal leader, but Hamacho Mirumoto traditionally speaks for Alloy in clan meetings. He is a plain and unassuming man of middle age. He speaks with a wisdom not often seen, and spots subtle machinations often before his contemporaries in Gold or Mercury do. Ruriko Mirumoto wishes the family had an actual leader like the other families, and in doing so, doomed herself to be Alloy's first Scion.
Gold: Primarily historians and record keepers. Tend to be slight of frame and unassuming in nature. However, without the massive archives kept by family, the clan would grind to a halt. The current leader is Keeper Nana Mirumoto. She possesses knowledge far beyond her peers, and no plot escapes her ears. It is unknown which inter-family plots she cares about, however. She is currently grooming Tetsuro Mirumoto to become her Scion, and eventually take her place as well.
Current concerns: Has several complaints about the Watch not properly preventing theft of goods, primarily Miromoto's own. Inner-family feuding has been occurring in greater intensity of late, above the usual rival ribbing.
