Glacialis's random journal
The random thoughts, ideas, and stuff that come to mind and a way to kick some people upside the head....
The three races

Humanity: The dominant species of the planet, Humanity has come far from her humble beginnings. Humans are typically 5' 5"-5' 10", and 120lbs to 180lbs, with males being on the taller/heavier end of the scale. Bizarrely, humanity as a whole does not have a set skin tone, nor eye/hair color. Regional areas may have similarities however. (Humans from the Tribal Ranges tend to have reddish skin and hair, while humans from the European Union tend to have pale skin ad dark hair). Humans have the blessing Overcharged Soul, aka Traits. Unlike the Elves and Goblins (see below), Humans are born with a Blessing and a Flaw. The blessing is typically a Supernal Trait, such as strength, stamina, sight, or timing. Sometimes the blessing manifests as increased magical resistance or talent, or even humanity's unique trait: Creative Magic. In return, all humans are born with a corresponding flaw. The strong may lack stamina, The quick lack timing. Increase talent with Focus results in bigger backfires. Creative Magic users are restricted to only that magic.

Elves: Not quite as dominant as Humanity, they have still carved out quite a niche for themselves. Elves are typically no taller then 5 feet, and no heavier then 130 pounds, with females on the taller/heavier side. Legends state they are descended from the Fae, a mysterious species that just up and vanished with barely a trace. Some co-ordination with Human legends trace this vanishing act to roughly the same time as a great catastrophe that struck down the Unnamed King. The Elves are granted the blessing of Fae Focus, aka Quirks. An elf around the time of puberty picks up a Quirk and a Bane or Focus. The quirk acts much like a Human's blessing, but with a higher chance towards magical talent, primarily Focus. Elves also have a unique quirk: Unbreakable Focus. In return, the elf must either pursue or avoid something. What this is could be anything: Velvet Elvises, Sex with virgins, the life's work of Elloit Hammelton, the sound of a tolling bell.

Goblins: A lesser, though still sentient race on the planet. Unique among the sentient races for have two stages of development. The "child" stage tend to be no taller then 4-5 feet, and no heavier then 100 pounds. This stage looks much like regular human/elven children, except for the large-ish horns on there foreheads. The "adult" stage, in return, tends to be 6-7 feet tall, usually packing 200-250+ pounds on a large frame. There is very little difference between males and females in the height/weight department. Goblins are granted the blessing Ritualistic Faith, aka Rituals. As the "child" becomes an "adult", he begins his very own Ritual. This ritual must be performed every set period of time, or he looses the Boon the ritual grants him. The boon is similar to the Humans' blessing, but instead favors magical talent, primarily Faith. Goblins have a unique boon: Unquestionable Faith.
