Entrty #27: Homecoming Game, Tourney, and Sunday[unfinished]
This is Fluffy signing in.

Wooooooooaaaaaaahhhh... Feels like forever since my last entry, huh? Well, anyways, let’s get this entry over with quickly! I needs to finish up some homewurx and stuff! sweatdrop

Today is 10/27/2010... It is 4:44pm (kewlios!)... And Halloween is comin up real soon! 4laugh No, I’m not really gonna do any trick-or-treating, maybe just walk around with my little cousin or hand out candy at home... I’ll just put on some cat ears, put on a tail and that’ll be it!

Well, enough about Halloween, I’m gonna be talking about our homecoming game, our last tournament, and the Sunday after that!

As you might’ve guessed, our homecoming game was on Friday! mrgreen Since homecoming games are different that regular football games, the marching band had to perform before the start of the game, instead of performing during half-time. Cuz half-time is when all the big important homecoming stuff happens!

After the band’s performance, we went up into the stands and just fooled around and played some short pep tunes. Once it was half-time, it was time for the homecoming floats to be displayed! The freshman (9th graders) didn’t really have an evident theme, but was neat; it had our mascots, Wally and Wanda Wolverine in some sort of prehistoric scene. The sophomores (10th graders, my grade!) had a Star Wars theme! It was pretty kewlio, except Chewbaca looked like Hello Kitty... with fur... ಠ_ಠ The juniors (11th graders) had a WALL-E themed float! It was pretty awesome! mrgreen And finally, the seniors (12th graders) had a Toy Story theme to theirs! I thought it was kinda cute! It even had “The Claaaaaaaaaw...” rofl

After all the floats were displayed, it was almost time to announce the king and queen of the homecoming dance! Once the names were announced and displayed, there were lotsa fireworks! It was soooooooooooo cool!!! Oh, and as for the winning grade for floats, the juniors won! Yays for them! ~♪

By the end of the game, our team lost 50-7... xp Oh well, I maybe we won’t suck as much next time??? Heheheh... sweatdrop

Now for the tournament! This week, we went to Rancho Bernardo! There weren’t many bands there though... xp And guess what? My school was the very, very, VERY first band to perform! eek I don’t really know why we were to first band to perform tho... :/

Before we went to the school, we absolutely HAD to have rehearsal first. Why? Well, that’s because we never had a proper rehearsal all week! We tried practicing our show in the gym one day, but that didn’t work out very well... I wasn’t really sure that our show was going to go well... Mainly cuz during this rehearsal, we added some new visuals and changes in the music...

After rehearsal at school, we had a little break. I went home and rested for a bit, then went on the computer for a little while before leaving again. We didn’t have buses this time, so I carpooled with Adam and Austin. RB ain’t that far away anyways, we got there in about 15 minutes.

When we got to our area in the parking lot, I hung around with some of my friends until stretches started. After we stretched, we got into a short sectional, got changed into uniforms, then headed to the warm-up area and rehearsed our music for several minutes. Then, it was time to take the field.

Usually while we are doing our show, the judges are up above the stands in the box to judge our show. But for this tournament, some judges were on the field judging us! eek That means we gotta be more careful with our marching!

During our performance, I kept making awkward eye-contact with some of the judges >3< I also noticed that some people forgot some of the changes we made in our show... I can’t blame them tho, we just learned all that new stuff. Oh, I should mention that we added something to our show! Towards the end, this GIANT scrim with the statue of liberty on it comes up! It looks so incredibly awesome! But it didn’t work out too well for this show... If you watch our video here, you’ll notice that the liberty scrim doesn’t open up all the way. That’s cuz a color guard flag got caught in it! O_______O” Good thing it popped out just in time! sweatdrop

After our performance, we went back to the parking lot and got changed out of our uniforms. I felt bad for the color guard tho... It looked like they were being lectured by their coach... sad Once everyone was done changing, some people were excused to go to homecoming or go do some other important business.
