Information on Skikudus ][Steel][ Family
][Traits][
Most within the Skikudus family have lean muscles, greater height then most drow, and strong bones structures. It is easy for others to spot a Skikudus member, though there is the rare few who are not as tall or strong boned, or ever lean. Those members are usually adoptive or recruited members. Most of the House is actually recruited. These are people who joined up, were enlisted, or simply drafted as the House made it way through the tunnels and passages.
The daughters of the Skikudus family are always trained in the family art first, before being sent out to the other house.
][ Duties and Skills][
Forging: Not forgery, but forging, creating an item out of metal usually a sword. The Skikudus handle all the forging done in the House, though they do not control the amount of materials they have. They need to get the it from the Xuruth family, usually they get a daily shipment. Though sometime individuals request metal of they're own.
Fighting: They study the traditional fighting skills of the drow families, though they have they're own studies as well.
Elggur Lil'alure: "Killer Dance" is an hand to hand combat tactic that mixes graceful dance-like movements with a combat, that focuses on the joints and weak of the enemy. However it is often used as a performance art.
Qee'lak Skikudis: "Quick Steel" using the same swift and graceful movement, yet focus on using the light metal weapons that the clan produces. Also used as a performance art, though the blades are even more colorful, with ribbons, gems, etc than those used in fighting (In some case they look alike).
Drokk d'Skikudis "Fist of Steel" is a form of hand to hand combat, were the fighter wears two layers on they're arm. the first is a touch leather that is long glove, the second is a band of metal. This metal is a brace around the arm, then flatten outs behind the hand. Depending on the person, there is a blade of a certain inch that shoots out past the hand. The metal band protects the arm, while the wearer creates a fist to expose the short blade. Which is used to attack.

They're area of the fortress isn't as complicated as the others. Most corridors and stairs lead to wear you expect them too. Except when it comes to the barracks, forges, and private rooms.
There are three main training areas. One is magically enhances to change depending on the wishes of the captain or individual trainee (there is a magic user nearby to handle that). The other one is purely for females, while there is less well kept male only training room. There are other training areas, though they are smaller and often for private use only.
There isn't much else there. The rooms of the noble daughter are kept hidden and away from the training rooms. While the males barrack is actually kept outside they're area altogether. It is actually one of the rooms near the front door of the Fortress.

][ In order to be an advance guard, you need to be taught by the other families and have mastered all three of the family's fighting skills, be able to forge your own tools and weapons, and three or more common drow fighting skills.
][At the end of each month, family hold a public tournament. Where are all wellcome, to watch as opponents handle the beast that the family keeps for just this purpuse as well as each other. Sometimes they actually buy fighting slaves, to put some spice into it. More people come to see a light elf fight, though they usually save those for sacrifices in the temple.
