History: Haru is the only child of a wealthy and politically powerful family. He was always quiet and serious, and despite the luxurious lifestyle uncharacteristically modest and unassuming. He is also incredibly innocent, that is, until he is exposed to the realities of the Tokkei missions. He was always expected to enter a government position and he becomes part of the Tokkei upon his father's expectations. After graduating from the academy and joining the seventh brigade, Haru becomes even more introverted and rigid. All he learns from the Tokkei is assassination and he denies the disillusionment he feels.
Kiyoshi realizes this in Haru and tries to draw him out of his shell. Kiyoshi is eventually a bit successful as Haru learns to grow and regain some of his lost childhood. Haru's cold exterior begins to falter tremendously when Nelle joins the team. For the first time in his life, he realizes that he has someone he wants to truly protect, not just physically but from the horrors of the world. His vulnerability allows him to open up to his teammates and rely/trust them more.
