I remember this one time I was watching TV and I had stumbled upon this channel, oh I've forgotten the name I think it was TLN, but while it was playing I got my first real taste of Maria Callas, it was this black and white taping of her I can't remember the song, I can't remember much at all about it but I do remember this one line she sang and it's translation on the bottom of the screen.
"May his happiness be as great as my misery."
I wish that I could find that song again so that I may get the full context of it. But in reading that I felt so amazed. To be so sad and brokenhearted yet still you wish that even in your darkest hour you want the person you love to be happy; that's really what it means to love someone.
