Ah yes, my old enemies...
So, it's the middle of March, and the weather is great. Warm weather sets us free from the icy grip of winter, and sends us into the loving embrace of spring. Children are heard playing outside, and dogs frolic in the tall warm grass. Blooming flowers reach up to the warm sun, welcoming its rays. Yes, the peaceful time of spring is among us.

I LOVE spring. Really, I do. So warm, happy, and fresh...But there's something I'm forgetting...Something important...Oh yeah.

BEES.

Pretty much the ONLY part of spring that I hate is the BEES AND THE WASPS. I'm allergic, see. If I get stung, my throat closes up. So I get REALLY paranoid around bees and wasps. And they seem to TRIPLE in population during spring. And it SUCKS. D:

See, since I'm so paranoid about them, it seems like they're chasing me. Sometimes I feel like they're out to get me. Like, I feel like a bee magnet. Like I'm covered in honey or something. Or flower nectar. Or whatever the hell they eat. It's TERRIBLE. And people tell me, "Oh, don't worry. Just relax and leave it alone, and you'll be fine." Well...HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO RELAX IN THE PRESENCE OF A BEE IF I HAVE TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL IF I GET STUNG?? Yeah, if anyone else reading this is allergic to bee stings, you know how I feel. It is NOT FUN.

One time when I was about 7 or 8 years old, we were getting a new patio built. So I was playing with the neighbor kid in the backyard while my dad and some other guys were working on tearing down our old patio. And me and the neighbor kid were minding our own business when this GIGANTIC HORNET flew out from under the old patio...It flew around the yard a few times, and me and the neighbor kid were running away from it, but then my dad told us to stop moving or it would sting us. So I stopped running...But then the thing came straight at me...AND LANDED ON MY ARM...I swear, this thing was at LEAST half the size of the palm of my hand. I wanted to slap it off, or run inside screaming, but my dad told me not to move...And the thing WOULDN'T GO AWAY...It was TERRIFYING. I started crying really hard, and I was about to pee my pants, but then it finally flew away...

Right onto the neighbor kid's leg, and then it stung him instead. I felt sorry for him, I really did. It left a sting the size of a golf ball. But at least HE wasn't ALLERGIC.

Jesus. Why can't spring and summer exist without bees and wasps? I think we'd all be better off without them... gonk
