They began their long walk to the hidden base of rebels. However, it’s about a two week walk from where they currently were. About one week into the walk, “There should be an outpost up ahead.” Atreus said, observing his hand drawn map.
“Great,” Methodios replied, “we can stock up on supplies while we’re there.” After a few minutes, they arrived at the outpost Atreus spoke of, but it wasn’t what they expected. “Are you sure this is it?” Methodios asked, “It’s just a small run-down town.” Atreus checked his map again.
“We’re in the right spot, but the town is abandoned.” They stood at the center of the small town, looking around they saw shattered windows and broken doors. Dust consumed everything in sight including tables, chairs, broken lamps, everything. The buildings looked so fragile they thought that if they touched a single one, it would collapse.
“I don’t think we’ll get any food here.” Methodios said.
“Last time I was here it was a thriving community, u want to figure out what happened here.” Atreus said as he looked around.
“Everything is abandoned, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t attacked.” Atreus thought. “Let’s keep moving, I don’t like this place.” Atreus said without taking his eyes off the closest building.
Methodios shrugged, “Sure, the sooner we get to the base the better, but I thought you wanted to find out what happened here.”
“I had a change of thought.”
“Ok then,” Methodios said as he walked forward. Atreus stopped him, “Let’s go around the town.” He whispered. Methodios gave him a questioning look, but followed Atreus around the town. “If someone was in any of the buildings, they didn’t want to show it,” Atreus thought while looking back at the town.
“Shall we keep moving?” Methodios asked impatiently, tapping his foot on the ground while he waited.
“Yeah,” Atreus responded, and turned around to catch up to Methodios. Atreus took the lead while Methodios followed closely behind. Methodios knew something was bothering Atreus, but decided not to question him. “Let’s camp here for the night,” Atreus said without even looking at Methodios. When the tents were set up, Methodios instantly fell asleep, but Atreus stayed up, watching the road. He half expected an attack, but he wasn’t sure, the road was long and dark with no signs of life. Nothing moved and no sound was made, except for Atreus’s steady breathing. Eventually, Atreus fell into a sound sleep.

short stories
I plan to think of ideas for writing/typing a story. My stories will include fiction and if I work hard enough, I may write an entire story.
