In My Spare Time...
First of all I just want to start off by saying something that I usually don't, and that is, Thank you for coming and reading my journal. heart It means a lot to me to know that I don't just post something I put a great deal of effort into, out here to rot away (so to speak) and not be read.
Lately in my Spare time I have been writing random stories about my day or thoughts... Here is my favorite... biggrin

An Ocean of Thoughts
The soft sound of the rain plummeting finds it's way to my ears though I sit with my iPod ear buds in. The sound of the gentle, nearly depressing song, fits well with the sound and appearance of the calm storm at hand. The windshield is dotted with imperfect circles of water; thousands of them surrounding the glass that prevents me from getting soaked. I sit alone and quite staring out my window in the front passengers seat; thinking about everything, but yet thinking about nothing. My eyes eventually break the trance they seemed to have been locked into and wander towards the gray blank sky. It appeared as though someone had taken an eraser to the heavens and left nothing but a slightly smokey colored emptiness.
My thoughts drifted their way back to the previous day at the beach. The weather was quite similar except for there was no sign of rain and the sun had managed to escape between the breaks in the clouds. I recall sitting on a dune beside my best friend, my body facing the south, and my head turned in the opposite direction of my friend and toward the Pacific Ocean. It had always seemed to be beautiful and calming, always giving me that same wonderful feeling inside. I've wondered for a while now what it was that made me feel that way, was it the stunning beauty of the vast body of water or was it something else? I may never know. The world seemed timeless while I sifted my left hand through the sand and wiggled my toes which were buried. In fact I had covered my legs up to my knees with sand by that point. Still glancing toward the horizon, the sun's rays now only seeped through the cloud consumed sky, illuminating spots on the dark wavy ocean. I believe I looked toward the sea for answers, the main one being why I was so attracted to the enormous, beautiful, but furious and dangerous ocean. Suddenly my friends came running up to me interrupting my thoughts, but I only smiled and got up to my feet; the sand sliding off my calves. I ran after them along with the best friend that had sat beside me during that entire silent time. Down the beach it had become dark and foggy but on our end the sun once again revealed itself and shone down upon us. The laughter of young teenagers echoed off the cliffs and out over the flat surface of the ocean to who knows where.
