Hello there! My name is Van for those of you who've never met me ;D
I don't really like staying inside for too long unless I'm being lazy or have found something to do. I usually get a "Van is displeased" look and go outside for a little while. Lately I've been fashioning myself as a garden queen with a little help from my dear mother. . . Okay A LOT of help. . . I tend to kill plants D8
Anyway! Here are a few of the things we have in the garden <3 [ I KNOW I'm going to spell the names wrong; please bear with me] - Hydrangea, Lilies, and these little wannabe butterfly looking things which I have no clue what they're actually called but they attract bees out the whazoo D; :
We also have some really pretty "peach" colored flowers called Gladiolas [sp?](Psht they're pink I don't care what My mom says ;D ), Some purple flowers that come from sort of leafy plant (A-durrdurr Van, Plants tend to have leaves), and queen anne's lace (Yes, Q.A.L. IS in fact a weed but my mother likes it so I'm not allowed to tear it out xDD )
And down at the end of the driveway we have this ginormous ornamental grass that is starting to eat our mailbox D; Its blades have wierd fiber on them and are really scratchy if you walk too close by it. &//3 ITS A MONSTER I TELL YOU! And our dog seems to have a wierd infatuation with it since the chipmunks and bunnies like to hide there. BUT IT DOES have these really cool seedy things that curlique ^^
On our side yard we have some giant sunflowers that I planted in a pot growing. (HA ME! I planted them and they're still alive, ya hear that?! ALIVE xDD)They're not all that big yet, but they sure are tall. I feel so short compared to them alread and I'm 5ft 4! Its not faaaair! OMG! There was a bunny next to the the bushes by the sunflower when I was taking pictures!! It was sooo cute <3 I had to take a picture!
Then in the back yard I started up a vegetable garden &D And its still alive too! I had a fever one day and it was raining lightly so I went outside to cool off (Oh hush I know, I know "VAN YOU'VE GOT A FEVER! GET BACK INSIDE!" wink and decided to weed and rake out the place I would plant them in. It took a good three hours But I did it and now we have cucumbers. . . lots of cucumbers actually. . .
We HAD tomatoes growing but you see there was this thing and I kinda and yeah. . . They're dead now DD; I didn't MEAN to kill 'em they just kinda exploded in shriveling non wateredness. . . BUT The good news is I SAVED one and its now in its own little planter on the back porch along with some peppers.
And then there's this THING that's growing out from BENEATH the porch. HEY HEY HEY Its not my fault! I didn't plant it I swear! I just don't have any clue what it is!
Well, that's it now make like that bunny and SCRAM!! ;D
It was REALLY cute though <3 <3
