~The Better Part of Me~
> A journal that can't be explained by words but by actions < < I think >
It was around 2:30 PM when I came to my aunt's house for a visit.
I went to the living room, no one was there. I went to the garden,
I saw my cousin. She was reading her favorite book, Warrior of the Light,
by Paulo Coelho. Beside her was a cup of her favorite chocolate drink.

I approached her.

Me: You're reading that book again?

My cousin: Yep. At least I make my vacation fruitful by reading books
unlike you, sitting in front of the computer all day.

Me: Correction. I'm always out with my friends.

My cousin: So that's how you make your vacation fruitful? With your condition,
you still go to different places?

Me: Yeah... Well, I don't want to stay in front of the computer all day.
It's getting a little boring sometimes. And... Nevermind.

My cousin: Right.

Me: Uhmm... Hey Shin ( I call my cousin Shin. That's her japanese name),
Can I ask you for an advice?

My cousin: Sure.

I stood beside the table. Gazing at the flowers they have in their garden.

Me: What do you do when you fear something? If you're scared or something...
Specially if it involves life and death...

My cousin stopped reading for a while. There was a pause...
She stared at me with an emotionless look. Then she raised the book she was
holding. Then she stood up and smacked me in the head with the book.

Me: What the @#%* !!?? What was that for??!!!
(Sorry for the bad expression)

My cousin: See for yourself.

The book she was holding was flipped to a specific page that she thinks that
will answer my question.

It was page 53 of the book, Warrior of the Light.

It says...

The Warrior of the Light knows that everyone is afraid of
everything/everyone else. ( I just added the everything)

This fear genereally manifests itself in two ways: through aggression or
through submission. They are two facets of the same problem.

That is why, whenever he finds himself before someone or something
who fills him with fear, the Warrior reminds himself that the other person
has the same insecutrities as he has. He has surmounted similar obstacles and
experienced the same problems.

But he knows how to deal with the situation better. Why?
Because he uses fears as an engine, not a brake.

The Warrior learns form his opponents and acts in similar manner.

After reading the page 53. My cousin said, read the next page. Page 54.

Page 54.

For the Warrior there is no such thing as an impossible love.

He is not intimidated by silence, indifference, or rejection.
He knows that behind the mask of ice that people wear, there beats a heart of fire.

This is why the Warrior takes more risks thanother people. He is constantly
seeking the love of someone, even if that means often having to hear the word "no", returning home defeated and feeling rejected in body and soul.

A warrior never gives in to fear when he is searching for what
he needs. Without love, he is nothing.

After reading the 2 pages.

My cousin: I gave you my answer, if you don't understand, that's your problem.

Even though my cousin is a bit harsh, she definitely knows the right words to say.
