personality: He is very hyper and is very caring. He also has a very tight bond with his dragon partner. He is also very protective of those around him, mainly Shadow and his friends. He is also very stubborn and refuses to back down.

history: Kai found his dragon egg, when he was exploring a special region, in the outskirts of the dark leader's empire. He felt drawn to the egg and he took it. A couple months later, the dragon egg hatched and Kai named his dragon Shadow. This was 10 months before his 17 birthday. But Shadow grew up fast and by Kai's 17th birthday Shadow was almost full grown. Since than Kai grew so much closer to Shadow and they formed a tight bond, where nothing could break it.
Before he found Shadow, Kai was apart of the dark army, but he wasn't into all the killing and didn't want to do the leader's dirty work, so he deserted the army. That was when he was 12 years old. Through the dark lord, he managed to find out about the other dragon riders and how to find them. Since he preferred the library than anything else, when not training and he had located the records of the old dragon riders. He took that knowledge with him, when he fled. Since than Kai faked his own death, so the leader won't come after him, and punish him. Kai changed his whole appearance and became someone new. He doesn't tell anyone his past, because he doesn't want to attract attention to himself. Since his desertion, he has been on the run and now fights against the dark lord, ready to avenge all the innocent lives that were lost.
other facts: Even though he was part of the dark lord's army, he never once killed an innocent, though he always made it look like he did. He is a demon, but he is good and helps the other riders against the dark lord. Since he wants the dark lord eliminated, but he is a master at weaponry and hand to hand combat. No one can match him in a fight.
