The Garnet Tablet
Korean dramas are so addictive~! I'm currently watching Full House with my mum. My dad watches too sometimes, and laughs at us when we get so into it. stressed
At the moment I'm only up to episode 12. It's all on videos, dubbed in Cantonese, with Chinese subtitles. i can understand w ell enough, but it would be even better if it weren't dubbed at all and included English subtitles.
One of my friends at school is an avid collector of Korean movies and dramas, and she has the original version of Full House, plus the Director's Cut. I asked her if I could borow it, knowing that she'd say no. But then s he offered to burn it for me if I could give her some DVD-Rs. 4laugh I'm so excited! Tomorrow, before my taekwondo grading, I'm going to go and get some DVD-Rs so that she can burn it for me. And then I'm gonna hand it out to all my friends!!
A lot of my CDs and such are in delapidated condition now because I keep lending them out to people, and I can never remember who has what. But I love to spread the Korean love! When I get obsessed over something I want to share it around to everyone and spread the obsession. Most commonly my Korean obsession. My friends will tell you that I am a Korean wannabe. sweatdrop But I'm proud of it! wink

Well, taekwondo grading tomorrow, Saturday the 18th of June. My grading is at 2.30 pm, but I'm heading over early because my cousins' gradings are at 1.00 pm. One is going for yellow belt one s tripe, and the other is going for yellow belt two stripes. My brother and I are both going for our blue belt one stripe.
If we had taken that extra grading in January we would have been going for our blue belt two stripe now, but I didn't learn my blocks properly so I decided not to go. Besides, we only just got back from a vacation the day before the grading. My brother was angry at me but if he wanted to grade so badly he should have gone.
I think some fo the younger kids in my yellow belt two stripe level aren't going to pass. They barely managed to pass the grading for their second stripe in March, and they aren't going to well right now. They don't pay attention in class either. sweatdrop But no worries, they're only about 5 years old, I think. They have a whole lifetime ahead of them. As for me, I'm the eldest in my class. (Junior white to blue belt). I'm actually supposed to be in the teens class. I'm turning fifteen in August, and my friend turned fourteen recently.
The main reason I dont want to move to the teenagers' class is because I don't really know anyone in that class. It's a much smaller class, with less than ten students. They have only two classes a week, while juniors have four. (Not including sparring). However, the training is more intense and I HATE doing flips.
There are some benefits though. In my juniors class there's currently about thirty or more students, and it's too squished up in our class. Seeing as the teens' class has only ten people, there'll be a whole lot more space to move around in. I think kwanjangmin is looking for a bigger place, and might relocate the club next year.
By the time I get my black belt second dan I'll probably have moved houses, so I won't go to the seniors class... I wonder if those Korean kids in kwanjangnim's other club will keep going? I'm moving to that area, so if kwanjangnim still teaches there then I can go and still be under his instruction. Otherwise I'll have to catch the train back and forth because I am NOT changing clubs. NO WAY.
Altogether I think my club has probably about 100 students. The actual dojang is pretty small and I feel sorry for kwanjangnim because those litle kids always muck around during class and it's upsetting to see people stuffing up all the time even after months of doing the same thing. But kwanjangn im has a great (if at tmes lame) sense of humour, and our two sabomnim are fanatastic too.

Anybody know the name of the new president of the World Taekwondo Federation? I keep forgetting his name and I need it for my blue belt two stripe grading in September.
