I can't believe I had not added this.

Well, our first year anniversary did not turn out as I would have expected. It was actually a complete disaster. I went round with the truck to pick up Amy and just as I got there the truck died on me. Don't know what happened. So I had to call my father to send someone to help me out. When the guy came, to my unbelievable luck, the truck started working on it's own accord. Really P***ed me off.

I changed the truck to another so just in case it decided to do that to me again I wouldn't be stranded anywhere. I took Amy to a romantic spot for a late picnic, where we could lay together and watch the stars. Only when we got there we discovered a family had taken said spot to have a BBQ and play loud trashy techno music. So we had to find someplace else... So much for thinking it was secluded.

On the way to the spot, I had to go down a steep, dark hill. So on the way back naturally I had to go up said hill. Half way up, I was going to tackle the steepest section so I went to put the truck into first gear. This is where everything turned to the worst. The gear stick popped out and came off in my hand. I was seriously able to bring it up to my face! The truck began to roll down backwards and the brakes could not hold the truck in place due to the steep incline. I was trying to also keep the truck rolling in a straight line but I did not manage as the front left wheel ran off the road, leaving us hanging off the side of the street above a 3 m drop. I slammed on the breaks and to my relief we stopped moving as we were likely to go over.

I had to call my father who at first did not even comprehend the extent of the situation we were in. It was on the second call that the full picture came to him. I had to wait in the car with Amy for about an hour, practically not moving as we were worried we would tip over.

When my parents arrived they helped Amy out of the truck and told me to stay where I was so that they could tow the truck back.

When the truck was pulled free we were then driven home as we were to shaken up to drive ourselves.

In the end, for our anniversary we ended up having a burger and chips in a take away place as we were unable to go through with our plans... Some anniversary...
