Real Random Ramblings!
I can't believe what I've been missing out on!

This is a view I was introduced to at dawn this Sunday morning!

It's just a bit of the 360 degree view from the hill fort in Aberystwyth and it's only 20 minutes walk from my house. In the whole 9 years that I've lived here I've never bothered to walk up it and have a look and now I'm wondering why!?

Aristotle
In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.

There was a time, a few years ago, when if I was having a bit of a stressy time I would jump in my car and zoom off into the hills to go for a long walk somewhere new and random just so I could clear my head.

I'd spend hours just strolling throught the countryside, just stopping every now and again to admire the view. It gave me time to think about nothing and forget about my troubles. Then I'd usually come across something incredibly beautiful, a cave or a waterfall or a view for miles across the countryside and I'd remember that there's a whole lot of stuff that's bigger than we are, and some things we have no control over, and that would make me feel better.

Hypocrates
Walking is man's best medicine.

It always worked a treat.

But for some reason I stopped. I can't remember why, but I do know that I'd forgotten how nice it is to just plod along somewhere new, rambling down paths that I've never walked before and at the end finding a view of something or somewhere beautiful.

Kahlil Gibran
And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter and the sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

Perhaps that's why I stopped.

Yeah it's lovely going off exploring on your own, but I was missing something. Or more to the point I was missing someone. Someone special to share it with.

Albert Camus
Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.

So that's what I did on my day off.

We got up at stupid o clock, just as it was getting light, and set off up the hill. We walked in silence and just rambled along the path stopping now and again to look at the view throught the trees. When we got to the top we stopped and sat down and just held hands and watched the sunrise over the valleys in the distance and behind us the clouds rolling in over the sea.

We didn't need to talk about anything, all the trouble that's been going on around us, all the people who are making us feel bad about what we've found. All I really needed was a walk in the dawn light and a fantastic view infront of me to watch while the sun came up. In that moment it was all ok.

And it was perfect because finally I've found someone to share it with.

lol, forgot to mention that it's a lot more fun when your rambling buddy falls in a gorse bush and then in a big muddy puddle!
xd
