He knew... all along....
Alissa took one of the babies from David, the one closest to her. She smiled at the little boy she held in her arms and kissed the top of his head. "He looks... just like him..." he reached his hands out to her, whining and crying slightly. She smiled sweetly and held her baby close to her. "It's like.. a mini him...." Alissa held in tears though she knew she had cried many a times now. She didn't know how to feel at all anymore. Her dream babies were real but the love of her life was gone.
David sat there, letting Alissa take in the moment of her children. There was nothing much he could do to begin with. He just helped her give birth to her children and found out his best friend is a monster. So many thoughts were running through his head. What if he stayed? Would it had happened if he stayed in their lives? So many what if's and would it's came to mind but it stopped once the baby girl stirred.
He looked down at the sleeping infant that had been laying quietly in his arms for the majority of the time. Even her brother's cries hadn't woken her up. He pulled the blankets more over her to keep her warm. "She looks more like you..." he chuckled a bit, "More quiet though.."
"Ya... HEY!" Alissa glared, trying to keep quiet to not wake Naomi. She looked back at Trei, "Whose a pretty boy? You are." Alissa rubbed her nose against Trei's who began laughing. She carefully picked him up, getting one of the diapers that had been in the box on him then putting on his new clothes. "Who looks snazzy? Trei looks snazzy," Alissa smiled, kissing him again. She handed him to David and took Naomi, doing the same thing.
David blinked, confused over the sudden baby change. He looked down at the baby boy that Alissa had just gagaed over. The baby was crying, holding out his hands to his mother who was too busy dressing his sister. At first, David had no clue what to do. Trei hadn't been crying when he was in his mother's arms but now he was wailing his head off. He couldn't return the boy to his mother until she was done with his sister.
I thought I'd die without him... without him by my side..
The crying had ceased. Alissa perked her head up, looking over to David and Trei. David was holding Trei close to him, cradling him in his arms and letting Trei grab onto his fingers. She smiled and watched, holding Naomi close to her as she did. Soon enough, both babies were finally asleep and everything was calm.
Without him telling me it would be okay...
"He's just like him..." David had finally agreed, handing Trei back over to Alissa who glady took him with open arms. She nodded, "Ya.... and she woulda been daddy's little angel..." They both looked down at the twins who laid in their mother's arms.
Silence grew amongst them as Alissa just watched her babies breathing. She was so happy that they were alive and well. Pushing them close together, wrapping them up with blankets for more warmth. She looked over at David who returned the gaze. First it was mutual, just staring but then they eached smiled. It was their own way of saying everything needed. "I'm sorry" etc.
But with him there... someone who knew my pain.... it was easier to coope...
"I'll make her world perfect...." Jorden looked down into a deep hole she had created. She glanced over at Luna, who had been staying loyaly by her side spite what her owner had done to her. "I'll make her world mine... You'll see... You'll see!" now yelling down the well to Michelle who was trying to find a way out. "There's no way out, Michelle... Either drown or they have their way with you!" Jorden screamed at the top of her lunges, laughing like a mad man as she pointed at her minions. "You'll pay for how you treated me... You'll pay... She'd be better off without you!"
"Sweetie... let me out of here!" Michelle tried to be calm about it, hoping playing the innocent thing would make Jorden remember that she had a nice side. All it did was back fire back at her.
"Sweetie this.. Sweetie that... Well, shove sweetie up your uterus!" she growled, throwing down rocks at Michelle. Michelle tried to dodge the rocks but some of them hit her anyway. "Jorden! Stop it!" soon Michelle's voice died out in Jorden's mind. She had stopped caring about what she had to say.
Jorden leaned down next to her dog, patting her head. "See, Luna? I'll make it work.. it didn't work before... but it'll work now.." she smiled and kissed Luna's head. The blood of the dog's skin rubbing off on her lips. She merely wiped at her lips with her shirt, licking the left over off. "What a good Luna..."
Michelle's screams could be heard behind her as the well filled up with more and more water. Jorden merely ignored it, continuing to pay attention to her dog. All that mattered was their world was ending and her world was beginning.
Alissa, with the help of David, had found a room safe enough for the babies to stay in. Scrounging up everything to keep the two comfortable and well kept. Only Alissa was staying in the room at that time, David had walked off somewhere. She was humming something that sounded like a sort of lullaby. Whether or not the babies were sleeping, the song soothed her.
"My pretty babies..." she smiled, sitting on the floor next to the small crib made for the two. Alissa gently rocked it so they would stay asleep. She sighed, continuing to hum "You Are My Sunshine" while her head began to sway.
But the suffering was bound to continue... I wasn't in the world that was mine.. I was in her's...
Hours gone by and still no sign of David. She couldn't remember him saying anything about doing something important. What if the monsters got him? ... It was a huge possibility afterall... the monsters only ignored Alissa and Jorden. Neither of those people were David.
I should have been more careful... but my mind was elsewhere...
She couldn't just leave her babies like this... the monsters would take them to Jorden and who knew what she would do! All Alissa could do was wait it out and hope David would return or her last outside world sanity would be loss.
There was still no sign of David but she had no clue how long it had been. Alissa had fallen asleep next to her babies and forgot the time. She looked around the room, trying to see if maybe he was there but there was no sign of him. There was a sudden burst of crying coming from Trei. She sighed and picked him up, cradling him in her arms.
I didn't know this would happen... If I had known, I woulda made him stay.. from whatever he was doing.
