Yeah, Im strange...Get used to it! XD
Hey there guys. Here's what I have so far on my story..tell me what you think. It's a major work in progress.

Defying Destiny

Prologue: It was dark that night as cold rain poured down all across the small town of Willowsbrook. Eris swerved and zigzagged randomly through the trees, trying to lose the guards. Lightening flashed, jagged and harsh across the night sky. The lightening was always followed by a horrible snarl from the heavens: Thunder.
The young girl cursed and looked back. The blinding flashlight beams were closing in. She could hear the vicious barking of the German shepherds. She needed a way out, fast. They just had to disable my boosters, she thought bitterly. But my life’s never that easy. Soon she would be cornered and she’d be dragged back to her ‘home’. More like a prison actually, than a home.
The girl continued to sprint aimlessly. If she could just jump the fence she’d have a chance of making it out. Just as she spotted the fence, she could hear twigs snapping on the forest floor beneath her, feel the flashlight beam growing on her back. She flung herself against the rain drenched, slippery chain link fence and started climbing. She reached out a scraped and dirty hand to pull herself up and over. She was so close.
But then there was a tug at her leg. She looked down to see a shepherd tugging at her pant leg, standing on its hind legs to reach her. “Crap!” She hissed fiercely as she started kicking her leg, trying to knock the dog’s powerful jaws loose.
Then, there was light. The flashlights, the guards, had caught up with her. The hope and fury left her eyes. She was surrounded. “Oh no…” she whimpered in defeat. And then she was falling, pulled by a big snarling dog, down toward the muddy and rain soaked earth.

Freeze! Now, before I fall and get all muddy and gross, I think I have some explaining to do… I can’t tell you much now. I guarantee you’ll find that I have a very complicated life.
My name is Eris, Better known as AngelE-13. Yes, that’s right. Eris, the goddess of chaos and discord. You may have heard of her. And that name is no coincidence, either. Another thing: My code name, ‘E 13’? E is for Eris, and the number 13 is for bad luck. The goddess of chaos and discord meets the cursed 13! I don’t know about you, but I sure wouldn’t want to be there when they clashed.
Tonight, August 13th, year 2013, is my birthday. Not just any birthday, my 13th birthday. I really should have realized that this probably wouldn’t be my lucky day.
And get this: My destiny is to destroy the world. Try living with a future like that on your shoulders.

All right, now back to the falling.

I desperately tried to grip the wet metal fence, my fingers raw and cold. My hands and face stung from being dragged down, but I wasn’t going to give up just yet.
Scratch that.
There was a sickening Splatter as I hit the mud. Have you ever been almost completely submerged in mud? I really don’t recommend it. I gagged and coughed after doing a face plant, disgusted by the taste. Sometimes I wish my senses weren’t enhanced to be as sharp and accurate as fox and a hawk combined.
A big hand gripped my shoulder and pulled me up out of the mud, followed by a sharp pain in my spine. I yelped and squirmed then fell limp. It’s so not fair that they can short circuit and paralyze me with the push of a button.
The guard pulled the electro-rod away from my back. “Nice try, E-13. I guess this just isn’t your lucky day. He chuckled darkly, and slung my helpless body over his shoulder carrying me back to the destiny I try so hard to escape.

After being carried back about a mile in the rain, we reached the base. The guard lay me down on my bed, then left, locking the big metal door tightly behind him. I lay paralyzed on my bed, staring at the ceiling of my room. And by ‘room’ I mean a really nice prison cell.
I was cold. I was soaking wet. I didn’t realize ‘til my stomach grumbled at me, but I was also starving.
I looked over at the mini fridge, which usually had some kind of snack in it. I rolled my eyes and sighed angrily “ One problem, I can’t move!” I said with a snarl. Luckily, I was starting to get feeling in my toes. This could take a while…

It was morning now. Outrageously bright light streamed in from my tiny shatter-proof-glass window, and I shielded my eyes. I was a little sore, and it felt like my whole body had fallen asleep. One big pile of pins and needles: Just the after affects of the electro-rod. Like a hangover, except replace the drinking with a metal thing that paralyzes you.
My stomach growled and I forced myself to get up. I’d rather get up early and eat then make my stomach eat itself. I hobbled over to the fridge, flung it open, and scanned it for something yummy. I grabbed a bunch of grapes and started devouring them like a hungry animal. I had to chuckle a little at how pathetic my existence was.
I finished the grapes and threw the stems into the trash. Then I looked out the window, watching as some of the other Angel’s were being trained and tested in the field.
‘Angels’ are what we’re called. It’s way too innocent of a name in my opinion, considering what we were made for. We all have different abilities, but with one thing in common: Genetic enhancements. Yeah, we’re basically super powered cyborg things, except we’re evil. Another thing, we all have ultra light metal wings. Pretty cool, huh? No. Not once you consider that we’re weapons of mass destruction.
I watched in horror as my friends’ eyes started to glow, their wings unfurling. They were under the big guy’s control.
Instinctively, my hand shot up to rub the back of my neck. I could feel two hard squares beneath my skin. One was the tracking chip, and one was the control chip. I only knew this because I hacked into the central database and read all the files and looked at my x-rays. Soon I’d figure out how to get these things out of me.
Then it hit me. And by ‘it’, I mean a question that would make my brain twitch until I find the answer. I’m just overly curious that way. Why hadn’t they just activated the control chip when I tried to escape? They didn’t have to go through all the trouble of chasing me.
Maybe it was a test. Or maybe they couldn’t activate the chip, which is unlikely, since they managed to disable my wings, my booster rockets, and my laser guns.
Yet another mystery to add to my to do list: Figure out how to remove my chips, save my friends, escape, and now solve the mystery of the control chip. Well, not necessarily in that order, but , you know. The tracker chip mystery seemed to be the easiest, considering I could just hack the database again. “So it’s settled…”I mumbled to myself. “Today, I’m on a mission.”

I wonder how long it will take them to realize I broke the surveillance camera, I thought as I pulled out the shatter-proof sheet of glass from the window frame. Shatter-proof-glass isn’t too useful when it’s not firmly attached to anything.
They should have realized, even if it wasn’t going to break, I was strong enough to punch it out. Sure, it wasn’t easy. It took about a half hour. But it’s my only easy way out into the field.
Humans are really stupid…I’m just realizing this. I mean, Really stupid. Why would they want to make such dangerous weapons? And how could they be so cruel to use people?! Instead of making weapons of mass destruction, they could be doing a lot of good in the world. But hey, I can’t complain. This is my life. It may totally suck, but it’s my only chance to change things.
I crept along the side of the boarding house, where we all lived in little prison cells. I kept my back flat to the wall, trying to be as invisible as possible as I looked for guards. All the guards that were outside were busy watching the training angels.
I watched silently, as a bunch of white coat wearing scientists trickled out of the lab building. I counted quickly. All 35 of the scientists were leaving the lab, probably for brunch, or to go watch the other Angels train. The only people still inside would be guards. And the dogs were locked up. These humans alone would be easy.
As soon as I was out of the humans’ limited sight, I dashed over to the big, metal sliding doors, jumping inside just before they slammed shut. I gagged a little. The lab always smelled like sterilized metal.
With a casual, confident gate, I walked toward the computer database. Three guards were approaching with electro-rods. They charged, pathetically slow, in my opinion, and thrust the rods toward me. I dodged all three, and all in one motion, took them out. I spun, punching one guard in the stomach, hard, gave the next guard a round house kick to the chin, and ramming shoulder first into the last one’s side. They all crumbled, barely conscious. Too easy. I smiled triumphantly and continued down the hall.
I punched in the long memorized access code. The metal door slid open and I stepped inside, scanning the room for guards. Nope, no one. The door slammed shut, and I made my way over to the big computer.

It didn’t take me long to guess their new password. I guess I had to give them credit. They were smart enough to realize someone had hacked in, and actually changed the password. I wasn’t expecting that.
I started guessing, starting with things like ‘Angel’, ‘weapon’, ‘willowsbrook’, ‘robot’, ‘wings’…No luck.
I heard a dog barking outside. And I swear, there was a light bulb clicking on above me. I typed in the word ‘GermanShephard’. The screen started flashing and beeping, and within a few moments, I was in the mainframe.
I sat there, searching and searching for more info on the two computer chips inside me and all the other Angels. It made the back of my neck itch just to think about it. Failure, failure, failure. But then, success! I found all the data on the two chips: Everything from warrantee to instructions and warnings.
Perfect for tracking lost pets. Have a vet insert chip into the loose skin on the back of your pet’s neck.
I snarled. This tracker was meant for animals. Not people. I kept reading, and my hand shot up to the back of my neck.
Digital signal may experience interference when around water and natural, unprocessed, and high quality minerals and metals such as stainless steel, iron, silver and gold. This is because their electric attraction concentration is very high.
I made a note of that inside my head. I may not be bothered by water, even if I am part robot (That’s an advantage, believe me), but the tracker chip is. I realize now, a chain necklace or collar of some sort would be extremely useful, as long as it’s an unprocessed, high quality mineral or metal. I’ll have to remember that the next time I try and escape. I skipped down to info about tracker removal.
A small incision by your vet is necessary for removal.
Ok, an incision. I could do that myself, with a mirror and a knife. I felt a shiver go down my spine as I imagined that cold metal against my neck. Next, the warnings and precautions.
Warning: Avoid over exposure to high voltage shock and strong magnets on and around the tracker site. May cause nerve damage.
Crap. ‘High voltage shock’? Good thing they never give me lightening rod to the neck. It should be a little easier to avoid magnets. Note to self: Make sure that necklace you get doesn’t have a magnetic clasp.
I skimmed the rest, all useless crap. So I moved on to the article about the control chip.
I bit my bottom lip. This was just creepy.
A hacker’s perfect tool. Overload any electronic device with this highly receivable signal. This chip is adaptable to computers and remote controls, for easy use and access. Settings are one hundred percent adjustable.
So that’s what they’ve been using. My hand continued to rub the back of my neck, the chips itching under my skin.
This chip is extremely versatile, capable of just spying or even over loading and destroying.
I actually gasped. They could destroy us at any moment.
Signal may be broken by water and pure metals.
Cool. Just like the other chip. At least now I know how to stop it.
I kept skimming. All the warning s an interferences were basically the same. Water and pure metals= good, for me, that is. Strong magnets and high voltage shock= bad. Very bad.
I kept taking notes inside my head, until I had a chance to write it all down.
I was even more disgusted by these hard squares beneath the skin on the back of my neck now. These chips are intended for lost pet tracking and government computer control. Not that I like the government, but , what a waste of technology!
