Well, today was an eventful Monday. I learned the Fifth declension in Latin, saw the first thirty minutes of Romeo and Juliet in English, did my math NWEA in World Cultures- and we had an evacuation because of a gun scare.
Here's the deal: so, it's the tail end of third period- the homestretch, the last ten minutes. I'm on the 50th question, the third-to-last, when the Principal comes over the loudspeaker and says that he needs everyone's attention. We were told we needed to evacuate the building, and he stressed the fact that we could not bring our bags with us.
So, we go outside. We sit in the grass. My friends Brittany, Diana, Jeremy and Katherine are sitting with me, when we see these fire trucks (two) and one or two police cars pull up.
By this time, we started realizing that something was up. In the next hour and forty-five minutes that followed, there was a grass-war, two bees that were either fighting or humping each other, and Brittany bit my leg (Shut up, perverts stare , she did it because I pissed her off, and my leg was the closest thing at the time) stare .
Eventually, everyone started filing back in. We started back in too, when the teachers started yelling that we had to go in the front door, rather than the side one we'd come out through (It's a big, regional highschool. When I say that we had to go in one door rather than another, its significant).
Then, the teachers started yelling that we had to be with our classes before we could go in. So, after another fifteen minutes getting everyone together, and my teacher chewing out the people that wandered off, we all went inside...
...And were immediately confirmed that something bad had happened. There were police inside, blocking any and all movement to any other part of the school. We were being directed to the gymnasium. One officer constantly had a hand on his gun, like one of us was going to rip out a pistol and start shooting. They all looked so serious and grave, it was kinda unnerving.
So, we got into the gym, and everyone's piling into the bleachers. Brittany and I took our seats, and waited another ten or so minutes so that everyone else could pile into theirs. Then, the Principal took center stage with a microphone and addressed us all.
The main gist: Some a*****e apparently thought it would be FUNNY if they sprinkled BULLET or Bullet casings in the hallways on the third and second floors. The principal said the police were offering a thousand dollar reward for the identity of the person.
Needless to say, many people jumped at the opportunity.
Later, my friends Alicia, Kayla and Margaret witnessed the arrest of the two guys that were turned in and eventually admitted to doing it. They're going to an expulsion hearing, and will undoubtedly be expelled. And they SHOULD be. Everyone is entitled to an education, but when you do something as STUPID and HORRIBLE as this, ESPECIALLY AFTER VIRGINIA TECH, YOU FORFEIT THE RIGHT TO AN EDUCATION!!!
