I’ve not heard back from Gabriel. I worry slightly that he did not receive the Owl. Vanitia arrived back after the delivery so I know she was not intercepted. As much as I adore her, I enchanted the parchment to explode, owl included, if someone other than the receiver were to touch the bird.

Perhaps he knows what I did. Perhaps he knows what I feel I must do. Perhaps all this time he just needed me to admit that deep down I always knew he did not attack Lucius as I tried to believe he did.

I don’t know anymore. I am uncertain of many things. Yet at the same time – I have never been more certain of other things.

Draco is, for now, safe and that is what matters most to me in this world. More than anything, my son means everything.
