newspaper print stains my hands
growing blacker by the day
leaving gaping holes where it once was
eyes bringing tears to a blank slate
over my head and under the radar they slip away
quietly a mess that's all they ever meant to me
the words of course
one by one they write their names over the blackboard
one by one death comes to claim boredom strikes when you have to stay
but i sit there dripping drowning in your sea of ink

sometimes i feel burned
but it doesn't hurt

sometimes i look over my heart sometimes it tears me apart
