Intro to the book!!
Four years ago, my life changed. Four years ago, it happened. Four years ago, I was turned. Turned into a vampire. Now, I am running from my friends and family. They called hunters on me. For four years I’ve been running. My name? It’s been so long since I’ve spoken to someone, I don’t really remember it. I think its Tabatha. Yeah, that sounds about right. I’m Tabatha, a fledgling on the run for her life. This is my story…
This is chapter 9. Its called The Dream
I was walking through the woods, when I came upon a different house. Curious as I was, I entered it. Calling out to see if anyone was there, “Hello? Is anyone here?” When no one answered me, I ventured further in. Thinking to myself, This looks familiar. Where have I seen this before? Then it hit me. This is Falq’s house! How did I get here?
I walked around the house. Looking around as I did so. This is so strange. I have to be dreaming. I reached down and pinched myself. Yep. That didn’t hurt. This is defiantly a dream. I walked up the stairs and heard voices in a room. Who could that be? I walked up to the door where the voices were coming from.
“No! How could you let her kill him? Aidan! Please come back!”
“Ma’am, I’m sorry,” the coroner said, “Your son has been dead for 12 hours. There is no telling where she is now.” Who are they talking about? This ‘she’? I hope they don’t mean me.
The next voice was that of Tom. “Ma’am, I’ll will hunt her down if you want. I’m good at that sort of thing.”
“You would? Oh, please,” Aidan’s mom said. I would never hurt Aidan! Tom did this! He’s framing me for Aidan’s murder!
“I’ll leave now.” I moved out of Tom’s way. Tom the detective had become Tom the hunter. From friend to enemy. I turned and followed him. Out in his truck, he had Kiba. Kiba knew I was there, but only because I made myself noticeable to him. “You didn’t think I couldn’t understand you? Ha! I knew you were telling Tabatha that I was the hunter! I know she understood you!”
“What do you want with the Queen? She has done nothing to you, yet. When you find her, be prepared for a fight! Falq has trained her well, as have I.”
“Such words for a creature so small.”
I woke up suddenly. I was screaming and Kiba ran over to me to see what was wrong. Falq had been trying to shake me awake.
