So, I rather fancied doing a quiz. I'm also known for profound and unreasonable paranoia, so this seems appropriate...


I fear...

Actually, I mostly fear that I'll be judged poorly. It's a former pushover thing.

[ ] the dark.
The dark isn't too bad. I'm no fan of absolute darkness, though.

[ ] being single forever.
No, I've accepted that.

[x] being a parent
...Because I'd screw uo really badly, and wind up with a tormented offspring. I don't want to help make someone's life miserable.

[ ] being myself in front of others
Not really, no. I only fear that "myself" isn't good enough.

[ ] open spaces
Aren't really all that great...

[ ] closed spaces
These are lovely. I adore small, cramped spaces.

More like falling, actually-- I quite enjoy being high up, but I frequently have nightmares about falling.

No, I love cats. I used to have a brown cat named Cadbury... He was really lovable and dim.

...I rather dislike seagulls, but birds are good otherwise.

Fish taste good in a sandwich.

They're rather fascinating. You can watch them slowly go insane...

I really love flying, actually: I went trans-atlantic for the first time when I was two years old, and I've been flying ever since.

Flowers are odd, but not frightening.

To a degree. I usually shudder or hang limp... I don't like it at all, but I'm not really overly frightened of it.

[X] fire
I have no greater fear than the fear of fire... One glimpse at a candle and I'm off and running. Perhaps it's the wild nature of flame, or the fear of slipping and landing in it... Fire is terrifying.

I love swimming. Water doesn't really bother me at all.

I dislike salt water, but the ocean is very beautiful and awe-inspiring.

If there's one thing that scares me more than fire, it's failure. Failure, and the fear therof, drives my every move. I admit to being a perfectionist, and failure disturbs me terribly.

Actually, praise and success drive me almost as much as failure... Although I've been told I'm not too good at dealing with it.

Storms are quite entertaining.

Crowds are great, really. I enjoy being in a crowd on a busy street, wandering wherever the people go. It can be quite fascinating.

Provided they're stable bridges, I don't really mind.

Death is a mystery to me, an intriguing thing to be studied and admired. I don't fear death, only what it does to people.

Pssh. You can't fear what you don't believe in.

Mugged and beaten, maybe. Robbed, no. I never have any money anyway.

It relates to the whole "failure" thing. Bigger responsibility presents more instance of significant failure.

Two doctor parents. There's no fear, there.

Eh. Weather is rather dull, really. Not scary.

I can't say that I'm overly bothered by disease; the engineering flaws of evolution are really rather remarkable, don't you agree?

Hissss. Snakes are quite ridiculous.

Admittedly, it's more those prehistoric dinosaur things that scare me, rather than sharks, but that's a little odd.

They're painful, granted, but I'm intrigued. To inject substance into the human body... They can heal or harm, depending on the chemical. It's a plot device all in itself.

It's a date. Don't be so damn silly.

If there are real ghosts, and I suspect there aren't, they aren't interested in boring old me.

I can live with being single, but alone... When there's no idle conversation to distract me, I tend to think of my own flaws. People may be scary, but they are required, if I'm to stay sane.

That would mean no reading. Yeah, being blind would suck.

No music? No idle conversation? No music? Hell no. I'd kill myself in a matter of days.

To be honest... I'm a bit of a blood lover. Blood is the liquid of life, of existence, passion, pain and self-loathing. It carries great meaning for me, really, and I've not used a plaster (American types: Band-aid) in the past three years or so. I just sit there and watch it bleed.

Well, we all are a little disturbed by that concept, am I right? No one wants that. I worry about my family; mostly my younger sister.

Not love on its own... I fear the effect it has on those around you. Love leads itself to isolating all but the one you love, making you blind to flaws, and eventually leaves you broken and disappointed on the proverbial sidewalk of life.

Not for me, thanks.

I like spiders. I watch them as they crawl along my desk.
