I feel so stupid…
Today’s just a crappy day for me…
You know those little anime figurines that come in those tiny boxes that are ridiculously overpriced? The ones that cost like twenty times more than they’re really worth, but we all buy simply because we’re all sad losers on the inside?
Well yeah.
Me being the major loser that I am, *0t4ku 4eva! >.<*, I went and bought one of the brand new Gundam Seed figurines (Okay, I admit, it’s not really a brand spankin’ new set they just released, but hey! don’t shoot me for being a month late).
Well, alright, the newest set so far.
Just arrived from the Official Seed Club in Japan, they’re these tiny chibi version of the cast from Gundam Seed and Destiny. There are six of them so far (well at least, there are six of them in my knowledge…): Lacus Clyne, Lunamaria Hawke, Yzak Joule, Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala and Shinn Asuka. All adorably designed and dressed in their respective Destiny outfits. What’s so special about them? Unlike all the previously released figurines-in-a-box (…let’s just call them that for now. For my sake.), they can, *legasp*, talk! Yes, these figurines with their own little stand that has a voice clip of the character. How darling!
But here’s the catch. They cost $12.00CDN each. For a 2’’ figure. That’s six bucks per freaking inch. For heaven’s sake, the stand already takes up half an inch. Call me money greedy if you will, but I think those pieces of plastic are WAY overpriced. Not to mention the fact that you don’t know which character you’ll get just because the stupid companies stick them in stupid boxes that you can’t open. Personally, I think that you’re just setting yourself up for misery and an empty wallet if you buy something based on chance. Especially since those stupid stores always follow the same stupid policy, don’t open the boxes, no exchanges, final sale, and oh yes, I hope you have a craptastic day.
…right.
Then again only an utter imbecile would go and pay for something that they had no idea what it was. Either that, or they’re just filthy rich. Or maybe they’re all of the above…and more. Trust me, I would know…*cries from stupidity* Nothing pains you more than getting characters you hate. Well okay, maybe the pain of the drained wallet comes pretty close.
Now you might be asking, what does have to do with me having a crappy day?
Simple. I went and bought one. But here’s what makes me loser of the day…
It’s almost my birthday. Okay, not really. It’s in two months. But close enough. And so, while going through one of my window shopping sprees (consisting of staring, recording/comparing the prices in different stores, and begging my parents for money), I discovered that, while the figurines were released a while ago, they were pretty much almost all sold out. And nothing makes me more desperate than what I may never be able to get. Apparently, the stupid stores decided to only have ONE shipping of the figurines from Japan. And so, I became a frantic mess (Like c’mon, they could talk! *legasp*) and searched every store in my database *brain whirrs* until I found one store that had four left.
Now being the money-pincher that I am, I did everything I could to gain an advantage over the stupid stores reaping in profits. Which resulted in me grabbing a box and hiding in some remote corner of the store and cutting one of the pieces of tape (…you’d barely even notice it…THAT’S just how pro I am…XD) and peering into the box until I could decipher which hairstyle the figurine had (…pro at work…). I easily deciphered the first three, Lacus, Lunamaria, and Yzak. Now me, I’m pretty darn loyal fangirl. I try my best to get my favourite characters every time…and when I mean my best, I MEAN my best…
Me? I’m a dweeb for Athrun. So I calculated the possibilities of getting which one of the characters. I’m not terribly picky…as long as it’s a character I didn’t mind/hate, I’m fine with it. And so, the result was a 50% chance (I don’t mind getting Yzak or Kira…or Athrun…XD). In other words, two of the boxes were out of the question. I was about to buy Yzak, but I figured, maybe the last box was Athrun. And so I went and snuck off with the last box and hid in the clock department (nobody’s ever there…XD). Using my amazing spy skills, I once again stared in the tiny box. Seeing a patch of dark blue or brown (…couldn’t tell…it was too dark…), I was so happy. The box had Athrun!
Or so I thought.
After I went and bought it (Well not really, I told my parents to count it as half my birthday present…), I happily opened it to find…Shinn.
Like, what…the…freak.
…I’d forgotten there was ANOTHER character with dark hair too. T__________T I am such a loser…
I can’t believe my stupid mistake…I could have gotten Yzak at least…T__T
Oh yeah. I so deserve an award. Definetely. In fact I should be nominated for loser of the year.
For all those still paying attention to my ramblings on my daily life…I thank you from the bottom of my heart…
It makes happy to know that life is semi-interesting to some people…I’m giving my journal a bit more attention than it has received since its birth…so I hope people enjoy my writing…
