“Sky…”
The voice sounded dreamlike, and a soft shaking passed over my body.
“Sky…Wake up…”
“Ten more minutes, Mommy…” I mumbled and rolled over.
“Sky…WAKE UP!!!!!”
“WAK!” I screamed, bolting upright. Sillie was floating next to me, a megaphone in her hand.
“This is your personalized wake up call. You have a visitor,” she said through the megaphone.
“Who?”
“A fairy by the name of Leah.” She took the megaphone away from her mouth and a fairy with lavender hair and pink bangs fluttered up from out of her hood.
“This can’t be good…” I muttered. Leah looked sad, which meant that she had some bad news from the future.
Sil flew out to the hallway, leaving Leah and I alone.
“What’s the matter?” I asked, sliding off my cloud to sit on the floor by Sil’s bed.
Big, fat tears started falling from her eyes as she began telling me everything that happened since I left, explaining it all to me through body language since Centrillian fairies can’t talk.
Once she was done, I was in a state of shock…
I stood up and tears began to fall from my eyes.
I wanted to be alone at the moment, so I took Sil’s nightstand and pushed against the door and then went around and locked all the windows.
There. Now no one could get in…
I sat down by the bed, laid my head on my arms, and started to cry. Leah was floating inches above my head and patting it, trying to reassure me that things would be okay.
But they wouldn’t…
“Sky?”
Alex had teleported right beside me, his hand on my back, a worried look on his face. “You okay?”
I looked up, my face red from crying and streaked with tears, and looked at Alex for a couple seconds before I flung myself at him and continued to sob.
“Oh, Alex,” I said, my voice shaky. I sat there and cried on his shoulder, and he put his arms around me, trying to calm me down. After a while, I stopped crying long enough to sit back and wipe my eyes. “Look, your shirt’s all wet, now,” I said, sniffing.
“That’s okay, it doesn’t matter,” Alex said. “But what’s wrong?”
I sniffed, staring at my hands, a silent stream of tears falling from my eyes.
“You know that I’m a twin, right? And you know that when I was eight, my mom became evil to protect Dan and me, right? Well, my fairy, Leah, just came today with bad news…” I sniffed here, and looked up. “Dan’s dead…”
And the tears came again, harder and faster, and my shoulders were shaking as I cried, the tears falling into my lap. Leah, who had been hovering above us as the entire conversation took place, flew down to me, touching me lightly on the head. She looked over to Alex, her big, green eyes shining. He took my chin in his hand and made me look up at him.
“Don’t cry,” he said, wiping away a couple stray tears. “I hate seeing you sad…” He looked at me for a while and hugged me tight.
“I’m sorry about Dan,” he said.
I /was/ gonna find John.
And I /was/ gonna seek revenge for killing Dan.
And Uncle Trent.
And for giving me my dreams.
And for killing Mommy on the inside…
I just had to…
