MASLAUGHTER. surprised
I felt sorry for them though. Especially since the non-varsity team beat them 41-0 the night before. XD;
And now for the marching contest...
We got to school around 10, practiced, changed into our uniforms, and got on the bus. (It was an hour to the contest site.) We performed, changed(the guys had to change on the bus; we changed in the ghetto bathrooms), got on the bus, and went to the mall(nearly an hour of bus riding there, too.).
It seems like all of the bands fro mthe contest went to that same mall, because there were three different ones in the food court at one time. XD; We had to beat up little old ladies for their seats. (Notrly. :D)
Then, we were supposed to have a few hours to wander through the mall since we figured there was no way we would make finals, only half an hour later, they tell us we did indeed make finals, so hurry up and get changed and get back on the bus. (Just a random fun fact: on the bus back, I had to have my hair braided. Well, not only was the bus moving, but the girl who braided my hair was standing up.)
So we get back to the contest site, we perform, and go back up in the stands to watch the other bands. After being awed by a few absolutely amazing bands, they announce the winners...out of the 10 in the finals, we got 9th. xd (We had been ranked 8th earlier.)
All in all, it was a good day. We didn't do too badly in the contest, we got to see some really cool shows(though we thought the band that won wasn't all that great), and we got to go to the mall. :D
