[letter #16]
My Flattering Acquaintence:
You compliment me all too much; I feel so horribly guilty. I feel slightly reassured that I managed to come up with a different opening this time, though. Maybe my brain has returned to me.
I'll keep all of that in mind when I need glasses some time in the near future. Any recommendations from a friend like you is always valued, and your first hand experience is useful to me. Thank you.
My ticking clock has stopped annoying the sleep away from my body, finally. I'm getting used to it again, but now that I have a new smoke detector in my room, the flashing light always makes me believe that I'm seeing things. I like keeping me eyes open to stare at whatever small section of the room they're looking at, but with the light flashing at unpredictable times, I have to try and keep my eyes closed now, or turn on my side, of which I am unaccustomed to. Soon, I will probably start counting the seconds from the ticking of my clock to see how long it is between each flash. Isn't that sad?
I'm glad your bug problem is resolved, but it doesn't seem to have done much good, has it? You're lucky; at least you have a garden of some sorts. I live with a balcony as backyard, and a small long pot of herbs growing along my kitchen counter. I suppose it isn't that bad, though. I'm rather certain that if I did, it would be depressing. Not only would it take more time than I'm willing to give, but I think that all the dying flora wouldn't do all too much for motivation.
It's beginning to rain again. It was drizzling and cloudy yesterday in the boat, cold but stale. I was so huddled up that I could only move my eyes to see you rather than twisting around and exposing my body to the cold. On the one day where you aren't a silhouette, it's the one day that I'm not quite up to the game. It is pouring outside, though; I can hear it on the roof. Perhaps it will be drier tomorrow, and I won't be surrounded by too much water.
Stay dry!
Your Concerned Friend
[author's notes]
Sorry for the long update...you all know why. Marching camp and all.
I'm thinking of changing my name, once more. Here are the options:
. . . s n o w
+ . . . s n o w +
SnowPheonix
I like the first one, as does Fae and someone else who voted in the poll (Adri?). The last one is, obviously, the one I have now, but I hate having the plain lettering and the typo in it...I'll await your decisions first, though, before changing it. C:
