When the woman left my house with Holly and Nissa, I thought to myself, New mutants! Of course!

"You'll be wanting to let the girl go."

"Hoshit. You're Adam, Brennan, Emma, Jesse, and Shalimar!"

"I'd love to stay and play. But I have pressing matters to attend to."

Almost immediately, the force holding Nogard, LeRoy, and I to the ground lifted. Leaping to our feet, the three of us bolted for the door. Seeing who was fighting outside, I grabbed Nogard and LeRoy and pulled them back. Smiling, I said, "Wait and watch."

"They've got Holly!" LeRoy growled, turning to glare at me. I could see him beginning to transform.

"These five are friends," I replied. "They're going to help us find Holly."

"Any of the three of us can take all ten of those goons out," Nogard said.

"I know," I replied. "But if that older guy is who I think he is, this'll be fun to watch."

"But all they're doing is martial art combat," Nogard said. "I can burn them or you could freeze them. This is going to be a long fight."

"Now just wait," I replied. "If those four younger ones are what I think they are, they're going to start using their powers here pretty quickly."

"Powers?" LeRoy asked, looking at me then back to the group.

As we watched, the blonde woman grinned as her eyes flashed from brown to yellow. [+1] She quickly dispatched her two attackers. Grinning, I said, "She would appear to be a feline feral. I believe that is Shalimar Fox."

The short-haired brunette shot two psi-attacks from the center of her forehead to the center of her two attacker's foreheads. [+2] As the two men fell to the ground screaming that they were blind, I said, "Psionic telepath. Probably Emma deLauro."

The young man in the trench coat created a ball of electricity and shot it at his two attackers. [+3] "Brennan Mulwray, electrical elemental."

The other young man happened to take a deep breath and solidified his body [+4]. All attacks simply bounced off of him. After a few seconds, Jesse gasped for breath. When his two attackers rushed him from either side, he exhaled and phased out [+5]. As he began to breathe normally, I said, "Jesse Kilmartin. A molecular who can go either impermeable or Intangible."

"And the old guy getting his butt kicked?" Nogard asked.

Looking at the last guy, I saw he was slowly loosing to his two opponets. Firing two ice blasts, I froze his attackers. Leaping one handedly over my porch railing, I stalked up to the man. Stopping an inch from him, I paused and stared intently at him. After a few moments, I grinned and pulled him into a hug. "Adam Kane. Long time no see."
