*~* I Used To Be*~*
I used to be A sapling Growing inch by inch Now I am A tree Dancing in the wind
I used to be An ugly duckling always being laughed at Now I am A graceful swan Flying away
I used to be a bud Ugly & alone Now I am A beautiful rose Gracing a loved soul
I used to be A caterpillar Inching my way along Now I am A freedom-loving butterfly Flying into the sunset
I used to be A piece of yarn Dangling without use Now I am A sweater Keeping my occupant warm
When I wrote this poem, I was told from some girls in my grade that I was so beautiful & that I should wear more fitting clothing & less baggier clothes. I was in depression at the time & was a loner because I was going through a rough time (my house burned down & made my stuttering unbearable). When they said that, it really touched me. I wrote this poem to remind myself & anyone who reads this that we are all beautiful, on the outside & the inside. Even if we start out a little awkward, in the end we will shine. Whoever our higher power is, they make no mistakes. heart 3nodding
