When you look at another,
What do you see?
Do you see their true image;
The person that which who they are
In their heart and soul?
No, that cannot be.
What you see is false;
An image that is flawed.
It is a front,
A shell used to hide
Who they really are from the world.
They fear the pain and cruelty
That others might inflict upon them
For being who they are,
So they create this lie.
Curse this flawed image!
That is some peoples' only salvation.
For this image can cause a person
To lose sight of who they truly are,
Making this lie the truth,
Who is then, in turn,
Hidden and lost from the world.
